Schouwen-Duiveland - Zeeland

This overland route leads a lot over roads and about 7km along a canal. Meadows and fields alternate, butterflies 🦋 and other insects are welcome. In sunny weather, this route is sweaty, since very few trees line the paths. It is also worth mentioning that the path along the canal consists mainly of shells 🐚.

Schelphoek is ideal if you want to let your dog run free. This is expressly allowed here. There are many shady ways and possibilities to exhaust the fur noses in the water.

Zeeland was the victim of a severe flood disaster in 1953. This gave rise to the "Delta Works" and I wanted to take a close look at part of it today.

Between the Delta plant and the Zeelandbrug

is part of the largest "Nationaal Park Oosterschelde" in the Netherlands and with the "Fietse" you can cycle in between.
