With castles, hilltop views, legendary dragons and well-developed infrastructure, the Siebengebirge has great hiking for young and old alike. The three hikes in this Collection offer you and your family the opportunity to explore the Siebengebirge near Bonn, in Germany. These Tours are suitable for all abilities, although some of the ascents require decent fitness. Since the hiking trails in the Siebengebirge are designed and laid out for everyone, you’ll regularly find benches along the way to make the climb easier.
The pure walking time of the three hikes is between 90 minutes and four hours. It should be noted that you should, of course, plan more time for the entire excursion, including breaks. This gives you enough time to enjoy the views over the Siebengebirge and to discover the sights along the way.
The starting points of all three hikes can be reached by public transport as well as by car. Current timetable information can be found here: swb-busundbahn.de/en/english. More detailed explanations can be found in the individual Tour descriptions.

The tour begins with a steady climb to the first destination: the Drachenburg. The castle is now a museum that reveals a glimpse of the magnificent interior. You can visit the premises on your own or as part of a guided tour. As a visitor to the Drachenburg, you can also explore the beautifully landscaped…

The hiking trail leads you steadily uphill through the forest to the first and highest peak of the tour: the Petersberg. This can be seen from afar through…

From the starting point of the hike, it goes straight into the forest. The first vantage point is a few hundred meters above the Dornheckensee and gives you a first look over Bonn. If you're from the area, you might be able to guess your house or at least where you live from here.
Along the way, vantage…
