Crossing an island, finally escaping from everyday life, spending the night in a mountain hut for the first time, finding peace, understanding the nature around you better, learning more about your own history or sleeping in a tent for the first time on a hike... The list could go on and on, because your personal summit moment doesn't always have to be the top of a mountain.
In this Collection, we want to show you what you can do to reach your own personal summits with 17 unique two-day adventure Tours in Germany. For each federal state you find at least one Tour that you can do in a weekend. The hikes are between 7 and 40 kilometres (4 - 24 mi) long and take you through towns, along deserted hiking trails and on atmospheric ascents.
Among other things, you discover impressive rock formations in Saxony, explore the historical sites along the Limes in Hesse, visit the memorial sites of the Berlin Airlift and venture into the unknown landscape around the Great Jasmund Bodden on Rügen. You’ll see: you won't only find ‘summits’ in the Tours.
Cultural and historical sites that’ll leave a lasting impression on you are just as rewarding as the crossing of a nature park, the mastering of a pilgrimage trail or a hike with climbing passages. All these peaks are connected by majestic bridges, new vistas, rivers, pilgrimage trails and challenging ascents.
As the hikes are two-day treks through sometimes sparsely populated regions, you should always remember to bring enough water and snacks for a rest. Depending on the season, suitable clothing and sturdy footwear, such as the adidas TERREX Free Hiker 2, are also essential. It gives you comfort and confidence, thanks to its Continental rubber outsole, which guarantees reliable grip, while the BOOST technology ensures unique energy return and comfort with every step. In addition, the shoe is made from at least 50% natural and recycled materials, because we see it as our task to conserve resources and avoid plastic waste. The airlift as part of German-German history is closely linked to our current capital Berlin. When supplies from West Berlin were blocked by the Soviet Union from June 24, 1948 to May 12, 1949, the Allies began the Berlin Airlift.
You will delve into this history on this two-day walking tour through West…

In contrast to the Scandinavian countries, where the right of public access applies to campers, you cannot spend the night in nature everywhere in Germany. When hiking, it is therefore often difficult to pitch a tent or sleep under the open sky with a sleeping bag.

Hiking means that you are always moving in the habitat of many animals. This is particularly well illustrated by the Heath Beaver Tour through the home of the beavers in the Düben Heath. The thirty-kilometer hike begins in Bad Düben and follows the course of the Hammerbach through the heath.
