Idyllic conditions yesterday; crisp, fresh and with perfect golden light. I finished work early to hike this loop of Upper Burbage. And what a treat it was. Abundant wildlife, epic views atop the characterful rocky outcrops and zero mud due to the frost. Perfection.

Finally the beast squad is back on tour 👩🏻🤝👩🏼❤️
This time we ended up in the Eifel, more precisely in Einruhr. A small currently sleepy place ☺️ As soon as we arrived, the sneakers were exchanged for hiking shoes 🥾 and off we went. Beautiful forest paths 🌳 and a quite steep climb were rewarded…

The Crown Estates are open again and we celebrate that with a wonderful tour on some of the less traveled trails of the area.
Because these are not the well-known tight gravel roads, it was often very muddy due to the rain of the past few days. The rain we got on our roof didn't work in our favor.
Despite…

Greatest after-work snowshoeing in Grindelwald (where I have currently set up my temporary base camp). 🤩 In addition to working, reading and drinking mulled wine, my main activities here are exploring the area in snowshoes. And the tour today was my highlight so far. 🥰 It has snowed soooo much the…
When we started in the morning it was really cold next to the river and the shaded side of the canyon. But as soon as we reached the top and were in the sun for some time, some layers had to come off.

This remote wild swimming and walking route really has it all - but first you've got to get there. The vertiginously steep Hardknott Pass road is revered by cyclists and road trippers alike for its 14% average gradient and far-reaching mountain vistas, but is often cut off by snow in winter.
If you can…
This time of year can be a real gem for the end of season rides. The big change is that you have to be very mindful of the road and trail conditions. Too early in the morning and there can be ice and slippery conditions, too late in the day and it can get very cold in the darkness.
For this route, I tried…
Possibly the shortest and slowest @Enjoy Winter Outside we took an amble in the sunshine with the dog along the deserted sands of low-tide Newgale beach in Pembrokeshire. Crisp, fresh air and even a little warmth from the sun low in the South, casting long shadows ahead of us as we walked along the beach. #EnjoyWinterOutside

The village of Krippen on the Elbe had not yet awakened when we started the tour up the Zschirnstein. The beginning dragged on, we were neither awake nor warm when we left the last houses behind.
You didn't hear anything else except the cracking of the branches under your feet and the occasional startle…

It was a great challenging hike. Taking the unusual path with some "no way, we can take this route"-path due to it's crazy elevation 😆. But unfortunately we only made it to get to the first peak, we couldn't continue to another peak because the day was really short and it was kinda dark already.

🚂 🏔❄️Coming to Gmunden by train and starting the hike right at the train station? Goes! 🙌
The Grünberg is, so to speak, the local mountain of the Gmundners, so there are also many opportunities for ascent. We opted for the short and challenging Ortnersteig, which can be reached from the city center…
Thank you, it wasn't that cold at all, one jacket even had to disappear into the backpack after a few kilometers. 🥵
It really wasn't ideal conditions yet, the frost is simply missing. {0} I really don't want to walk in the mud because you get wet feet and it's far too dangerous to slip. 😉

This hike is beautiful at any time of the year. On the mountain the snow is partly knee deep. The plateau/meadow area has its special charm. It also looks great when the valley is covered with clouds. The lovingly designed Alm will close on November 7th, 2022 and won't open again until April 2023. That…

A ground frost this morning, but it soon thawed as the temperatures reached around 2 degrees leaving us a slightly misty morning to visit Druidston Haven. Druidston is one of the quietier beaches of Pembrokeshire, with limited parking an no facilities - just the way we like it! Offering almost no beach…
