Versailles is uiteraard het bezoeken waard. Je kan er gerust een midweek vertoeven.
Je hebt het kasteel met eventueel tijdelijke exposities;
je hebt de stallen met de koetsen en een voorstelling;
Je hebt er de beelden;
Je hebt de tuinen en de "bosquets", die je zeker moet bezoeken tijden het waterspectakel;
Je hebt de beide Trianons;
En je hebt de "hameau de la Reine.
Uiteraard heb je dan nog de stad Versailles zelf.
Everyone knows Versailles, but we certainly hadn't been there yet. The beautiful weather and the end of the high season (30/10) encourage us to tick this off now.

After the castle we visited the large stable with beautiful carriages (carrosses) and the small stable with statues.
In the evening there was a spectacle with horses. A pleasant spectacle even for non-children. :-)

Get recommendations on the best single tracks, peaks, & plenty of other exciting outdoor places.
We started with the gardens and the "bosquets", these are paid during les jours de Grandes Eaux et de Jardins Musicaux. But these bosquets and the spectacle of the fountains are beautiful. The continuation of this spectacle was for the next day.

The second day in Versailles we did the rest of the gardens. We also went to the Trianons and the farm, but those photos can be found in another report.
In the gardens the "bushes" (bosquets) were open and the fountains spouted water at certain hours and under music. Beautiful to see.
Well, you can certainly walk enough here ;-).

The middle part of the walk on the second day. Le Grand Trianon, Le Petit Trianon and the Queen's Farm. Another joy for the komoot walker. And Versailles is more than the castle.
