Overtime is a nice thing to do if you let it go. Since our childhood we have known the Rennsteig from holiday camps, family vacations, songs. Well know? We knew he existed. We haven't hiked it yet. We had never done a hike that lasted several days. The Rennsteig has long been in our heads to hike it

A few minutes before the alarm went off, we were woken up by the roar of a deer. We never had that. Isn't it a nice feeling to feel your body? That's how you know you're still alive 😉. There was hoarfrost on the roof under our window. The weather forecast for our stage today: dry and sunny, temperature

Since we were the only guests at the hotel, our host asked us not to have breakfast too early. We then agreed on 8:00 o'clock. Sleeping an hour longer did us a lot of good. Today we weren't woken up by a deer, but again by our alarm clock. Shortly thereafter, the birds also began to chirp, as if they

I forgot to tell you an anecdote yesterday. Shortly before Oberhof I got the message that due to a lack of staff our hotel does not have a cook and we have to go to a restaurant in the middle of Oberhof for dinner. After 20 km we didn't feel like it. Of course I just meant it as a joke and we both laughed

Yesterday at the hotel at dinner we realized that we were having a "mountain festival". Half of the stages are done, four out of eight and a few kilometers over half. But instead of joy, there was a slight melancholy, because it will soon be over, because the end is all too near. It is so beautiful

First standing day (rest day) in Masserberg after five days of hiking and 117 km. The only movement, the only change of location should take place between bed, restaurant and wellness area. That's the plan. Yesterday afternoon in the sauna, a woman told us that the source of the Werra is very close by

We used the two standing days (rest days) in Masserberg for active relaxation, for regeneration, small hikes, sauna and sleeping in. So well rested we started the sixth stage with 32 km. The first day we had some rain, the others perfect hiking weather, temperatures in the low double digits (around 12

Too bad I didn't bring my inline skates with me. I could have skated half of today's stage. Yesterday the rainy weather was the mental training. Today the mental training went to the next level: hiking about ten kilometers on asphalt next to a busy country road. When it comes to cycling and skating

It's nice that yesterday we were able to walk ten kilometers on asphalt next to a busy country road, so we really appreciated our last stage today. It was then also the third level of mental training. But more on that later.

It rained yesterday. As a result, the mushrooms 🍄 shot out of the ground today
