The border area between Germany’s South Eifel and Luxembourg is a wonderful, varied landscape and perfect for day hikes. We love this magnificent patch of earth and like to compare it to a green bedspread with many shades of colour, loosely thrown over the land with endless waves and folds. The edge of the bed can hardly be made out, for it seems to be lost far away on the horizon. But on some days, when the air is clear, you can even see the Hunsrück uplands or the High Fens in the distance.

When you descend from the heights, you plunge into dense forests, roam through deeply cut, mysterious gorges and discover bizarre rock formations. In between, you hike along babbling brooks, through floodplain landscapes and to time-honoured castles.

In this Collection, we’ve put together nine hikes between 12 and 21 kilometres (7.5–13 mi) in length to show you all the facets of this magnificent landscape. Explore the 28-metre-deep (92 ft) Teufelsschlucht (Devil's Gorge) with its mighty boulders; take a trip back to the Middle Ages around Neuerburg Castle; or follow the meanders of the Prüm river to the Bitburg reservoir. On rocky border paths and old smugglers' trails, you hike through the mystical Kammerwald forest with its old oaks or discover the headwaters of the Alfbach stream on boardwalks. Magnificent views, gorge-like ravines, mystical rock paths and impressive rock towers await you in Luxembourg's Little Switzerland.

But it’s best to see for yourself. Lace up your hiking boots, pack your rucksack and don't forget your camera. Let's go.

The devil himself left his mark on this route. His devil's work is documented by gorges and crevices in the rock bastions of the Ferschweiler plateau - especially the 28-meter-deep gorge named after him. The primal force of nature is seldom as impressive as at the Irrel waterfalls. Over a length of 140

If you want to hike in the footsteps of the Middle Ages, this route is just right for you. It leads on romantic rocky paths around Neuerburg Castle. The mighty structure forms a splendid ensemble with the parish church of St. Nicholas, the bell tower and today's rectory - former Vogthaus. The Beilsturm

This route offers everything that makes a hiker's heart beat faster - and not just because of one or the other climb. A striking attraction is the Bitburg reservoir with its water sports facilities. Framed by bright red colored sandstone rocks, the lake promenade offers the opportunity to stroll.

The Ourtal is always a guarantee for a varied hike. A grandiose, ancient low mountain range runs through the Ourtal. The Our proves to be a true master of landscape design. The rocky Grenzsteig along the Lätges mountain with its magnificent views provides an almost alpine experience. After so much ups

This tour is truly in the heart of Europe. The Ourtal between Tintesmühle and the town of Ouren is narrow, steep and rustic here. The river has dug its way deep into the Rhenish Slate Mountains. The Our used to be home to thousands of river pearl mussels. In order for the population to recover, there

This route lives up to its name. Four streams with very different characters are lively companions for the hiker. The history of the pretty resort town of Bleialf comes to life on old mining paths along the Alfbach. Lead ore was mined here until the middle of the 20th century.

The Bollendorfer Plateau on the German side, the Luxembourg Beforter Plateau and the deeply cut Sauer Valley as a connecting element make this route an unforgettable experience. Every step of the way, the rock climbs in the Luxembourg sandstone are a true Eldorado for rock hikers.

This hike is certainly the most densely wooded of all Eifel tours in the delux nature hiking park. The color palette of the wet and broken forests of this highest forest in the North Eifel Nature Park changes with each season.

It is almost flat through the headwaters of the Alfbach, which is fed by dozens

If you go on a hiking tour in the atmospheric Kammerwald in the NaturwanderPark delux, you should be aware that you are walking on old smugglers' paths, which still give an adventurous impression today. You will hardly be able to escape this mysterious aura of the forest, which belonged to the Counts
