The landscape around Germany’s Lake Constance is enchanting with its gentle vineyards, wooded hills and idyllic lakes. In between, you also find glamourous architectural gems, too. From famous monasteries to exquisite churches and baroque castles, you discover buildings that immerse you in history in this popular region in the very south of Baden-Württemberg.

Some are directly on the lakeshore, others are hidden in the green hills, perched on slopes and offering magnificent views. A castle seldom stands alone, so you can also visit impressive gardens. In this Collection, we present four cycling Tours that give you plenty of time for sightseeing.

Let yourself be enchanted by the baroque splendour of Salem Castle, marvel at the fine stuccowork in the Birnau Basilica, enjoy the wonderful view from the New Meersburg Castle and wander through the fascinating garden of the New Tettnang Castle. These are just a few of the highlights that await you on these rides. You also cycle past zoos, harbours, museums, ponds and small villages, making every route varied and surprising.

Each Tour starts and ends at a railway station, so you can travel in a relaxed manner. All four Tours are around 30 kilometres (19 mi) long and easy to ride. You can cool off in one of the many swimming pools by Lake Constance or in one of the shady beer gardens that you’ll find all over this region. If you like to combine culture with exercise, these rides are perfect for you.
