Aspen is a great place to explore by bike. Known for its winter activities, it is also ideal for road, gravel, and mountain bike riding. It has high elevation (I can't breathe there at 7,800 feet), but the views are amazing and the food and shopping is incredible. There are great trail networks and bike paths. It is super bike friendly and bougie. All the Fendi and Prada and you get it! We spent a week there this summer covering the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift with The Move and had some great rides!
It was our first day of covering the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift here in Aspen! We did a MUST DO ride to Woody Creek Tavern. I was exhausted from Crooked Gravel, and this gentle out and back to belly up at the bike friendly bar and get nachos was a blast!
Day 2 of the TdFFaZ and #WATCHTHEFEMMES took us up to an old ghost town of Ashcroft. This is a road ride and a nice steady grade to the top and you sail back home!
Get recommendations on the best single tracks, peaks, & plenty of other exciting outdoor places.
Well, what can I say, I needed a few rest days... and we love going to Woody's Tavern!
My first ride of the day! We finished covering the TdFF and then took our bikes (mostly all bike path) to Snowmass. Yay for a loop!
If you do one ride in Aspen, this better be it! A gorgeous paved climb (out and back) to Maroon Bells. I think it is one of the prettiest places in the world, so after my husband got off of work, I went on my second ride of the day to show him!
Wahoo! Another great loop. I would suggest a gravel bike for this! @bbaehrens picked the route and yes, we did stop at Woody's again on the way back. Super scenic.
Out and back road ride from Aspen to the top of Independence Pass! It was beautiful and I had a blue bird day! I highly recommend bringing layers for the descent though! And your camera and snacks!
Great mountain bike route with just enough challenge and plenty of bike paths from Aspen! There are more routes to go longer or shorter. Aspen is great for riding!
