Today was a tough stage. Unfortunately, I didn't get any of the view from the top, but on a positive note, it was dry and I didn't get sunburned 😅.

A more relaxed stage today than yesterday.
From noon it got pretty warm and for the first time I was happy about signposted water sources.

Get recommendations on the best single tracks, peaks, & plenty of other exciting outdoor places.
Today's stage is deliberately only a short one, so that I still have plenty of time for Pamplona, a separate tour.

Today I was happy again about the dense cloud cover, the ascent was quite exhausting.
The sun came after the descent. That was fine then.

The early start gave me fantastic lighting conditions and saved me from the greatest heat at midday.
I should start even earlier tomorrow🥵🥵
It was again a very varied stage today.
The time taken is not correct today because I had some problems with the recording, at least the photos are in the right order…

Today the early start (5.40 a.m.) was mandatory.
The trendy temperatures of 35 degrees in the shade, wherever it should be 🙆♀️🥵 not only drove me out early and so I was happy with some fellow pilgrims about the fantastic sunrise shortly before reaching the highest point today.
Otherwise, the path today…

A nice stage.
However, I didn't really see anything for the first 90 minutes because today was the first time I went with a headlamp.
Fortunately, I got nice company from another pilgrim at the end of the village and was then able to practice Spanish extensively again 🙆♀️.
I wanted to add pictures 41…

Another early start today. In the meantime, I really like being able to have some peace and quiet on the Camino in the morning.
I'm an early riser anyway and you're still not completely alone, even if you often only see the other pilgrims in the distance. A cry for help would be heard.
Otherwise, the path…

Today's highlight: Santo Domingo de la Calzada with the chickens/roosters in the cathedral.
As a pilgrim you pay a reduced entrance fee, but in other cathedrals the entrance is free for us.
It was worth it anyway.
Of course I had to get some typical pastries 😅.
So far I've only tried the "rooster", very…

Today was an extremely strenuous and varied stage.
The motivation for this length was that I only have a relatively short stage ahead of me after Burgos tomorrow.
I found it impressive that the landscape also changed abruptly with the change of the autonomous region.
Instead of vines as far as the eye can…

As announced, there was a short stage today, so that I can give my body some rest and still have a look at the city.
The first half of the way was wonderful the 2nd half to 🤑. It went on the country road through industrial areas and in places the trucks use the shoulders intended for pilgrims to avoid…

Hopefully this was the last Ü40 stage 🙏.
The early start was worth it again, as it now goes over the Meseta and there shadow is a matter of luck.
Today you could tell that autumn is slowly approaching.
The ground fog produced a somewhat diffuse light with my headlamp and it was a fresh 12 degrees.
Since…

Today there was a stage with a bit of variety in the landscape.
It went a few kilometers along the Canal de Castilla.

Since it was clear today that the path would go absolutely straight, I started very early again and was rewarded with a fantastic sunrise. The first time I've experienced the sun reflecting in the morning fog 🤩🤩🤩
After the breakfast break, we just went straight ahead for 17 km, even Komoot didn't feel…

Today there was some variety in the monotony of the Meseta, after the usual sunrise there were clouds for a few hours 😅 and shortly before the finish line we passed corn fields. So far, there haven't been any 🙈.
2 more days, then the Meseta should be behind me. 👍

Today's stage was 🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱.
After a great morning red, it became gray and dreary, so no sunrise either.
The way went straight ahead as usual.
Then the thought came up: why am I doing this to myself?
I didn't find the answer, but finally breakfast after 20km.
When the sun finally came, everything was fine…

A short route with the aim of having half a day left in Leon to visit and rest.

The landscape is slowly becoming more varied. It is approaching the end of the meseta.
With breakfast it was a bit difficult again.
I asked in a bar and they said: we're closed.
When I asked where I could get breakfast at 10 a.m., I guess it was so sad that they made me a thick bocadillo with cheese to…

Again a short stage to be able to visit Astorga.
After the usual beautiful dawn, the sunrise fell into the water, it rained up to 6 km before Astorga.
Then came the playground with food, fruit, eggs, yoghurt, bread and very important: coffee, just in time. Everything was donation based and delicious and…

Today it went uphill again. In the meantime, the landscape offers variety again, also for the eyes.
Tomorrow comes then with the Cruz de Ferro the highest point of the Camino.
