CF: SJPDP - Santiago de Compostela

Today was a tough stage. Unfortunately, I didn't get any of the view from the top, but on a positive note, it was dry and I didn't get sunburned 😅.

A more relaxed stage today than yesterday.

From noon it got pretty warm and for the first time I was happy about signposted water sources.

Today's stage is deliberately only a short one, so that I still have plenty of time for Pamplona, a separate tour.

Today I was happy again about the dense cloud cover, the ascent was quite exhausting.

The sun came after the descent. That was fine then.

The early start gave me fantastic lighting conditions and saved me from the greatest heat at midday.

I should start even earlier tomorrow🥵🥵

Today the early start (5.40 a.m.) was mandatory.

The trendy temperatures of 35 degrees in the shade, wherever it should be 🙆‍♀️🥵 not only drove me out early and so I was happy with some fellow pilgrims about the fantastic sunrise shortly before reaching the highest point today.

Another early start today. In the meantime, I really like being able to have some peace and quiet on the Camino in the morning.

I'm an early riser anyway and you're still not completely alone, even if you often only see the other pilgrims in the distance. A cry for help would be heard.

Today's highlight: Santo Domingo de la Calzada with the chickens/roosters in the cathedral.

As a pilgrim you pay a reduced entrance fee, but in other cathedrals the entrance is free for us.

It was worth it anyway.

Today there was a stage with a bit of variety in the landscape.

It went a few kilometers along the Canal de Castilla.

Since it was clear today that the path would go absolutely straight, I started very early again and was rewarded with a fantastic sunrise. The first time I've experienced the sun reflecting in the morning fog 🤩🤩🤩

Today there was some variety in the monotony of the Meseta, after the usual sunrise there were clouds for a few hours 😅 and shortly before the finish line we passed corn fields. So far, there haven't been any 🙈.

2 more days, then the Meseta should be behind me. 👍

After a great morning red, it became gray and dreary, so no sunrise either.
