On the Hohenzollern Cycle Path, picturesque vineyards and quiet forests await you. Spectacular climbs take you to sparsely populated plateaus, breathtaking views of conical volcanoes, Lake Constance, the snow-covered Alps, the Black Forest and the Swabian Alb – it’s all here. Fairytale castles, magnificent palaces and one of the most important monasteries in Württemberg: the Hohenzollern Cycle Path truly has it all.

Covering 188 kilometres (116 mi), the cycle path isn’t particularly long but it’s still challenging due to the Swabian Alb’s many climbs. To ensure that amateur cyclists also enjoy this varied and uniquely beautiful cycle path, I present it to you in seven stages which are between 14-35 kilometres (8-21 mi) in length.

The journey to the starting point in Oberesslingen is particularly easy with the S-Bahn. While cycling, you'll find numerous accommodation options, such as guesthouses, holiday apartments or hotels at the end of each stage, although some of the stage destinations are fairly small. As a result, I recommend booking your accommodation in advance.

At the end of the ride, you can easily take the train to any large city from Ludwigshafen. Each stage destination is accessible by train too, meaning that should you want to shorten the ride for any reason, you can always jump on the train at the end of each day. So, there's nothing left to do except to get ready for an awesome adventure in the Swabian Alb!
