The most beautiful swimming lakes in Saxony-Anhalt

The west bank is not as frequented, especially in the lower area, which could be due to the non-existent asphalt, but close to the water and great visibility.

The Raßnitzer lake originated from a residual hole of the open pit mine. Where once brown coal was mined, today is a beautiful lake, on the banks of which nature is spreading more and more. Since this year, swimming at the lake is now also allowed. Buoys and signage will probably be installed in winter for the 2019 swimming season.

The Arendsee is the largest natural lake in Saxony-Anhalt, which is also one of the deepest lakes in northern Germany. At its lowest point, it is about 50 meters deep. On the northeastern shore of the lake is a large beach, where you can take a break, rest in the shady grass and refresh in the cool lake water.The lido is open daily from May to September from 10am to 6pm (weather permitting). Admission costs 3.50 euros for adults and 2 euros for children.

Crystal-clear water, green lawns with large trees and a gently sloping sandy beach make the Neustädter See one of the most beautiful bathing waters near Magdeburg. Perfect for families and for friends of free body culture, there is a separate guarded nudist stand section. But here you can not just lie around in the sun and cool yourself down in the water. There are beach volleyball and playgrounds as well as a waterski and wakeboardl lift. Fun and games all along the line.

The entrance costs normal, I think € 2, to get to the sandy beach. We were lucky, because they were probably already closing time.

Who skimpy at the entrance missed something. If it is not completely overcrowded in midsummer, Baden is here, thanks to clear water and well-kept beach section, a must.

And if your stomach growls can strengthen, because there is also a snack bar.

It's sad to see how little water there is in the lake, the political decision for this storage regime is not only incomprehensible to me

The Barleber See is a landscape protection and local recreation area north of Magdeburg.

Beautiful sandy beach, in the water but gravel. Usually you are alone.

Here you can ride a bike and enjoy the view of the beautiful lake. At the lake and forest resort there are small bays and bathing jetties. If you feel like it, you can jump into the water on Gröberner See to refresh yourself.

The Mondsee is located near Döbris in Saxony-Anhalt.
Lake friends from the surrounding towns of Hohenmölsen (about 3.6 km from the lake), Deuben (4.9 km to the shore) and Draschwitz (about 5.5 km away) can cool down in the Mondsee on hot days or have the opportunity to relax in the sun.
The nearest major town from where you can visit the lake is Hohenmölsen.
The lakes Auensee (approx. 8.2 km), Kretzschauer See (approx. 8.8 km) and Werbener See (approx. 10.0 km) are also very close by.
The lake is located in the district of Burgenlandkreis and has an area of around 36 hectares.

Quiet location with many small bays. Really a relaxing place.

On Heidesee the Heidelauf starts several times a year. There is also a climbing forest and a sandy beach for relaxing and swimming.
