Leave the car behind and take a relaxed trip to the mountains? No problem, with the new mountain bus connections of the Alpine Club Munich and Oberland you can easily get to the best tour starting points. Every Sunday, the Chiemgau bus line runs from Munich via Marquartstein, Schleching, Kössen, Walchsee and Durchholzen to Aschau. The region is known for its picturesque landscapes and Bavarian hospitality.

In this collection, we have put together ten hikes that will take you to impressive peaks, rustic huts, hidden lakes and wonderful vantage points. Often your view reaches as far as Lake Chiemsee, over wide valleys and to the main alpine ridge. The tours vary in length and difficulty - from the simple family tour to the exciting summit climb, everything is included.

The Munich Mountain Bus is a pilot project of the Alpine Club Munich & Oberland and represents a solution to the high volume of traffic in the Bavarian mountains. The bus connects the Bavarian capital with selected tour destinations that are currently difficult to reach by public transport. It thus represents a supplement to public transportation.

A total of four routes are served by our buses on Saturdays and Sundays. The mountain bus ticket also includes the round trip with the MVV to the start or end point of the bus. In addition, the buses offer enough space for bicycles, climbing equipment, harnesses or baby carriages. All information about the individual routes, the stops and departure times as well as other possible tours can be found at alpenverein-muenchen-oberland.de/umwelt/muenchner-bergbus/linie-chiemgau-sonntag.
