Happy Ride On 🤟🤟🤟
True to the motto: "I have a new bike joke..... But I won't give you the bike" 😆 Today we went on a pleasure tour along the High Rhine with many impressions.
The barbecue area is interesting, Figure 5, which, in addition to wood, also has a toilet paper roll ready. Don't fuck it up 😝
Diessenhofen always…

Today's MTB (speed) tour starts from Eschenz, a nice trail built into the tour and it couldn't be missing, a Falkenweizen at a super nice beer garden directly on the Hochrhein in Diessenhofen 😋 Pure enjoyment.
Just take the time to slow down, watch the flowing water, feel the power. A quote: "Throw your…
True to the motto:
"If the car seat sticks to the rump, June is sunny and hot" 😝
Very varied and beautiful circular hike and the cave cools extremely well at a permanent 6-7 degrees.
Figure 11 shows the distance to the source or to the mouth. It's about 1000KM to the mouth, last year I did about 550KM…
The saying goes: "After the rain comes the sunshine" but today it poured with thunderstorms, lightning and thunder.
I had to modify the originally planned tour a bit and therefore shorten it.
Starting at the Mammern train station and via Höhenweg, it goes up to the Neuburg ruins, which were built in the…
Today, on World Bicycle Day, I tackled the last tour I had to stop because of a broken spoke.
To begin with, a quote: "A person who has seriously set a goal will also achieve it".
The tour starts at Eschenz train station, the route first follows the Lake Constance cycle path and then follows secondary…
Tour start today from the station Steckborn in glorious weather. By the way, I bought the Velo Pass for Switzerland and will start more from the train stations in the future.
The first stop was in Mammern at the St. Blasius Church, which was built about 100 years ago, and we continued to the landing stage…
Today an abbreviated tour with a lot of rain and abnormal wind. Komoot recording probably took the shortcut too precisely and therefore I can walk on water. No, the water level is not that low in the fairway, so I chose the route through the beautiful old town.
When I last visited the Wagenhausen Propsteikirche…
Today's circular hike starts from the train station in Stein am Rhein and it's raining all the time, but according to the motto: Some feel the rain, others just get wet 😊 and go to the Rheinbrücke Stein am Rhein and follow the signs towards Wagenhausen and the first one destination, the old provost…
I'll start today's tour with a quote from Erich Kästner "When you're standing all alone in the forest, it's very difficult to understand what you're going into offices and cinemas for. And suddenly you don't want all that anymore."
The forest is awakening and spring is imminent, so it was time for a meditative…
According to the weather report, the high fog should clear at 1 p.m. and that was the case.
By the way, fog read backwards means - life and you should definitely do that in the sunny weather.
Today's tour goes to the former monastery church of St. Katharinental. I've stood in front of it from time to time…

The history of the St. Katharinental monastery goes back to the beginning of the 13th century. Founded by beguines, a community of women who ran a hospital in Diessenhofen, the young monastery was affiliated with the Dominican order in 1245 by a papal decision.
The monastery of St. Katharinental experienced various heydays over the centuries and also survived the turmoil of the Reformation after 1529 unscathed. The nuns were able to preserve the valuable monastery goods.Monastery Treasures in New York
World-famous sculptures and pictorial works from the St. Katharinental are "John on the breast of the Lord", a two-figure group by Master Heinrich in Constance around 1300, today in the museum in Antwerp, the visitation group of the so-called Visitatiomeister in Constance around 1320-1340, today in the Metropolitan Museum of New York, and the Graduale, a liturgical book of chants of the Mass. The Graduale des St. Katharinental, which was completed in 1312, is one of the most important manuscripts of its time and genre.

This tower was built in 1391 as a gun emplacement directly on the Rhine. From 1616 it served as a prison. A court judgment of 1667 referred to him as "därris". The name comes from the medieval term "tarraz/terraz" (wall, bulwark). The Armbrusterturm kept the name Thärris and its function as a prison until around 1800.

A portcullis hangs in the roof structure of the bridge above the passing carsThe covered wooden bridge that spans the Rhine between Diessenhofen and Gailingen in Germany is a sight in itself as a relict of old craftsmanship. But she also has something special inside. The current bridge, which has since been renovated twice, was completed in 1816 after its predecessor had been burned down in 1799 by the Russians fleeing Napoleon's troops.A few meters after the Diessenhofer bridge opening, a mighty portcullis from 1937 hangs in the entablature - largely unnoticed by passers-by. The steel lattice was intended to prevent or at least hinder German attempts to invade a bridge in World War II and could be lowered and raised again via a steel cable with a crank at the bridge entrance.

Bunker A 5497, camouflaged as the depot of the St. Katharinental monastery. There is also a nice cafe right on the Rhine and the former monastery, which is open on 2 days.

You have to ride the trail and enjoy the absolute top panorama of Diessenhofen with all the trimmings. It also has benches in the shade to linger.

The origins of the settlement go back to the Stone and Bronze Ages, as evidenced by individual finds in the shallow depressions of the district and on the banks of the Rhine. A coin treasure from Roman times is dated from 251 to 270. Remains of three watchtowers of the Danube-Iller-Rhein-Limes date from the 4th century.
