Cycling trips are great for leaving only a minimal ecological footprint and in Franconia, this is a centrepoint of the region’s goals. The magnificent natural landscapes with their river meadows and lakescapes, oak forests, vineyards, green city parks, deep green forests and vast juniper groves not only offer you endless cycle paths, but offer a perfect way to combine an adventure with conservation.

With nature-oriented accommodation, regional cuisine, spa forests and well-developed public transport, sustainable cycling holidays in Franconia are easy. The cities here aren’t left out either, and you’ll find wonderful landscape parks, community parks, biotopes and other urban nature projects to inspire you.

In order to combine all this on beautiful and sustainable e-bike Tours, we’ve put together 16 routes for you in this Collection. As you ride, you encounter spa forests where you can immerse yourself in green oases for forest bathing, lovely river landscapes, rugged rock formations and, time and again, cosy places to stop for refreshments. The culinary focus here is on regional ingredients and products. Whether vegetables or fruit, sausage, cheese, beer or wine: everything comes fresh from the region.

You can stay overnight in sustainable, bike-friendly accommodation, such as tree house hotels, former shepherd's wagons and giant wine barrels. There are also suitable trekking sites where you can pitch your tent or bivvy in harmony with nature (be sure to book online).

If you want to save CO₂, you can leave your car at home. Thanks to the Bavarian Railway Company and the Greater Nuremberg Transport Association, you can reach your destination with your bike by bus or train.

Now, there's only one thing left to do: choose your favourite Tours, grab your e-bike and pack your bags. See you in Franconia, the sustainable travel destination!

In the past, Tanzlinden was the place where festivals were celebrated and where meetings took place. The linden trees were artfully shaped into special shapes so that people could even dance in the crown.

Today there are only very few dancing linden trees left in Germany - in the Kulmbacher Land you will
