Is today another one of those beautiful, warm summer days? There are so many lakes in Berlin and the surrounding area that are super easy to reach, especially if you combine them with a nice bike ride. Lakeside, you can spread out your picnic blanket and cool off in between. It doesn't matter if you don't have a bike, they’re easy to rent.

Since 27 June, there have been DB Call a Bike pop-up stations at five of our S-Bahn stations. Until 3 October, you can simply rent a bike there using the app, start cycling and then return it to one of the pop-up stations. You can find out exactly how it works here: callabike.de/en/summer-offer.

To give you some inspiration for your first Tour with your Call a Bike steed, we’ve put together seven bike routes between 21 and 54 kilometres (13–34 mi) in length. They start or end at the S-Bahn stations of Wilhelmshagen, Friedrichshagen, Grünau, Strausberg Stadt and Erkner.

We’ve selected these stations and equipped them with pop-up rentals because they’re all close to beautiful destinations. First and foremost, of course, the Großer Müggelsee or the beautiful Straussee, Zeuthener See and Flakesee. We'll show you old fishing villages, Berlin's interpretation of Venice or part of the Wall Trail. And we'll take you into Berlin's surrounding countryside: to Märkische Schweiz, Erpetal and the Löcknitz Valley.

Curious? Just try it out. Grab your swimsuit and start cycling.
