On a beautiful summer day, many enthusiastic cyclists are drawn to Austria's more prominent cycle routes. So, we have collected a few highlights for you that are off the beaten track and invite you to a wonderful summer excursion.
Endless vineyards, inviting wine taverns, fragrant lavender fields, Southern Styria is a spot that every cyclist should discover sooner or later. Because of its wonderfully warm climate, it is also affectionately called ‘Styrian Tuscany’. We would like to introduce you to some of its most beautiful sides in this Collection.
We will send you on a discovery Tour together with your bike. Sometimes you will go far out into the hills of southern Styria, sometimes across the border to neighbouring Slovenia, which is just as beautiful. Many a Tour will take you to lakes as smooth as glass or to vineyards with great views. And of course, every Tour has at least one Buschenschank, the typical Styrian snack bar, in store for you. Here you can treat yourself to a delicious snack and a tasty drink.
The starting point of each Tour is Spielfeld-Straß railway station. As the border station of the Austrian Südbahn and Triester Bahn, it is served by regular trains from every conceivable direction. In addition, from here you can reach several well-known cycle paths such as the Mur cycle path in just a few minutes. In other words, the perfect starting point for extensive bike adventures!
And at the end? You're either right back in front of Spielfeld-Straß station or, if it's a one-way Tour, you’ll find a train station at the end of your route. We have made sure that you always have easy transport options, not only when it comes to getting there.
