The Kaarster See actually consists of two lakes, a bathing lake and a sports lake. There are two beaches at the bathing lake, one of which has a non-swimmer area and a beach volleyball facility. The sports lake is for sailing, fishing, windsurfing and diving.

Road Cycling Highlight
Here at Halterner reservoir you can refresh yourself after cycling in the lake. The 800 meters long natural sandy beach of the seaside resort leaves a holiday feeling and is perfect for relaxing. If you want to strengthen yourself after the bike ride, you can eat something in the snack bar "Seeterrassen".
The seaside resort is open from mid-May to mid-September on weekdays from 10 o'clock and on weekends from 9 to 19 o'clock. In good weather, it closes in the months of July and August until 20 clock. In bad weather, the seaside resort remains completely closed.
Admission costs 5 euros for adults and 3.50 euros for children.

Bike Touring Highlight
The lake is not only great for cycling, but especially for swimming. At Unterbacher See, there are two beach resorts with large lawns and sandy beaches. A bath is located on the north shore and one on the south bank.
Both beach baths are open in the summer from 10 to 20 o'clock. Admission costs 4 euros each for adults, 2.30 euros for adolescents and 1 euro for children.

On the northeastern shore of the lake there is a natural swimming pool where you can jump into the water and cool down after cycling. On the large lawn or on the sandy beach you can relax comfortably.
Entry to the natural swimming pool is free. In summer, DLRG lifeguards are on the beach every day during normal bathing times.

At the Biggesee, cyclists can look forward to wonderful paths and a great infrastructure. On a tour around the reservoir, the water will always enchant you with its picturesque sight - blue water surrounded by lovely hills covered with green forests.
In summer, the lake also scores with countless bathing spots where you can take a break and jump into the cool water. You can find everything from secluded bays to free beaches to lidos.

The recreational lake Menzelen is a great destination for a bike ride or a rest. Especially in the summer then worth a visit to the chill-out beach. When relaxing on the large sandy beach or at the latest slurping a cool drink in the beach bar you feel instantly put on vacation. Whether you're here for swimming, surfing, beach volleyball or just relaxing, you'll love it.
In summer, Rick's Beach is open daily from 10am to 9pm. Admission for adults costs 4 euros, for young people 3 euros and for children 2.50 euros.

Hiking Highlight
The Blausteinsee is a great destination with beautiful nature and many recreational activities. For example, you can enjoy the lake in all its facets, or try one of the water sports such as sailing, surfing or paddling on a hike along the 5.1-kilometer circuit. On hot days, you can jump into the cool water at the signposted bathing area to refresh yourself and relax on the large sunbathing lawn.

You can swim on the main beach of the quarry pond. The spacious beach was even created especially for this purpose. There are also free toilets available for bathers and a beach bar provides for the physical well-being and that extra portion of holiday feeling. At the rest of the lake you are not officially allowed to swim, but it is tolerated.

The Lippesee is a recreational area, where there are a variety of water sports and recreational opportunities such as sailing, surfing, paddle boating and fishing. On the north shore there is a small beach at the kiosk. In addition, there is a barbecue area, a children's playground, lawns, a mountain bike trail, a skate park and a mini golf course. Water skiing opportunities can be found in the adjacent Nesthauser See.
The Lippesee is completely surrounded by mostly paved paths on which cycling and running sports are possible all year round. In suitable snow conditions, the Lippe Lake Circulation is also suitable as a cross-country ski trail.
Water sports are possible on the Lippesee. At the lake there are two sailing clubs, the Paderborn Yacht Club e.V. and the Seger Association Paderborn e.V., as well as a commercial sailing school.
In addition to its use as a recreational area, high-quality gravels are also mined in the lake, which in the last ice age at the transition from the Westphalian Bay to the Paderborn plateau have deposited in layers of up to 20 m, especially in the area of the Lippe Lake. These river deposits originate mainly from the Alme and the Beke, which flow above the Lippesees of the Lippe.

On Möhnesee, it's great to cycle on the trails around the reservoir. In the summertime, many swimming spots invite you to jump into the fresh water. The water quality at Möhnesee is very good everywhere, so you have the free choice where you want to go swimming. The swimming areas are scattered around the lake and you can choose between large sandy beaches, hidden bays or beach resorts.

The location in the middle of the forest area at the Sauerland Sorpesee attracts especially nature lovers and active vacationers. Access to sports activities at the Sorpesee is overwhelming.
The offers right on the lake range from the high ropes course, fishing, cycling, mini golf, archery, golf, sailing, pedal boats, canoeing to swimming and many more. Those who are active throughout the day should, of course, also give their body the necessary rest and make use of the spa, sauna and massage facilities at the Sorpesee.

At Rotter Lake it is very nice to cycle. In the lush reeds and on the large water surface you can observe many waterfowl. If you like, you can cool off in the lake during the summer. There is a small beach where people bathe on hot days.

In the middle of the city of Lünen near Düsseldorf, this bathing lake with a size of just 300 x 200 meters fits perfectly into its surroundings. The site used to house the Lünen State Horticultural Show, today there is a lake with a whopping 5,000 m² of sandy beach and a green lawn with large trees. The Kreikenhof play park, with its slides, sandpits and tree trunks, is used to entertain smaller bathers and to romp around and have fun.
