Schwarzwald, Elsass und Vogesen 7 Tage Rundtour

It was time to do a multi-day bike tour again.

The destination is Alsace and the Vosges along canals. The highlight will be the Grand Ballon.

That was the first day

Today we went along the "la Marne au Rhin" canal. For me, the highlight was the route up the drained canal through the mountains.

The new canal goes over the ship lift in Lützenhardt.

Actually, I didn't want to drive that many kilometers, but all the campsites are still closed here.

Even a room wasn't available in town, now I'm standing in a camper place, it's not bad looking.

Unfortunately, I still had to drive about an hour in the pouring rain, otherwise the tour was very nice.

Very nice cycle paths along the Kanal du Mosel and later through the Val du Mosel (30 km railway line)

Since all campsites in front of the Grand Ballon were closed, I'm still up there, enough adrenaline was already in my blood 😅

Stupidly, my Komoot didn't want to continue at the top of the pass 🥴

Had to save first, then stop Komoot, only then could it start again - it doesn't matter.

Then gps was gone, so don't be surprised, I didn't rush down vertically, but floated through all the curves and serpentines.

The 30 km descent was a dream 🚴

Chased by the threat of thunderstorms, I cycled straight to Breisach.

Excellent cycle paths and a crisp tailwind ensured that I was able to enjoy a fat cordon bleu with salad and wheat at the Elsässer Hof in Breisach shortly before 12 noon.

Today's ride was a dream, especially through the Elzach Valley.

Unfortunately, it rained at my destination in Schiltach and the campsite was under a bridge, which I didn't like at all.

So I continued cycling and thought about going to a hotel, but that would have cost more than all the overnight stays… read more
