Manchester city boasts more than its fair share of gravel riding, whether that's some marvellously urban CX in the form of canal towpaths, muddy park trails and railtrails, or rural doubletrack just a short ride out of the city. In this Collection we've pulled together a range of our favourites that should suit all tastes, from short blasts to all-day epics in and around Manchester.
The Rapha Clubhouse is spread over three floors in its home tucked discreetly behind St Ann’s Church. This is the only Clubhouse with a mechanic’s workshop. Upstairs is a café serving the finest food, coffee and a wide range of Rapha products and an exhibition space called The Gallery is on the floor above that, and has hosted many exhibitions including Bradley Wiggins’s personal memorabilia collection.
The Rapha Clubhouse hosts regular rides for both customers interested in taking their cycling to the next level and Rapha Cycling Club (RCC) members. Events such as film screenings, exhibitions and book launches are also regular features.
Organised group rides roll out from Rapha Clubhouses every week. Whether you’re a local rider or just passing through, enjoy a social spin with us.

Linking Glasgow and Manchester, the Second City Divide is a long distance mixed terrain bikepacking route that's a firm local favourite. The Racing Collective's GB Divide route is raced annually, spanning Land's End to John O'Groats with many challenging off-road sectors, known as GBDuro.
For the full…
Cross is boss, and there's nothing like Urban CX for some inner city fun.
This route takes in Manchester cobbles, gravel and dirt as you ride along the River Irwell, through Clifton Country Park, Nob End and Ash Clough SSSI, take the Outwood Trail, and ride through Prestwich Park and Kersal Wetlands…
Get recommendations on the best single tracks, peaks, & plenty of other exciting outdoor places.
More urban gravel, this time heading south. Take in some dirt along the Bridgwater Canal, the River Mersey, Priory Gardens and Kenworthy Community Orchard on this Tour.
Canals, railtrails and some glorious gravel; take it from us, this jaunt out to the Sett Valley is a real cracker. It's no small ride either, so you'll be glad to hear there's a great cafe mid-way through as well, before you head back into the city.
If you don't have all day but want to get out of the city onto some rural gravel tracks, then this ride out to Marple and Werneth Low could be just the ticket.
