The Nacka nature reserve and Erstavik area are stunningly beautiful! It is pretty crazy that they are so close to the central parts of the city. I realized that I don't spend nearly enough time there, so today I wanted to change that!

I took the metro to Björkhagen and headed into the forest, wanting

Djurö is about as far out into the Stockholm archipelago that you can get without a boat and using public transport. It offers a truly unique environment with steep cliffs and spectacular views over the open water.

The terrain can be challenging at times, so properly grippy hiking shoes are a must!

The Gömmaren nature reserve is one of my favorite go-to locations for a day hike because it offers some really lovely nature while being easy to reach with the Stockholm red line metro, Masmo station.
