Work up a sweat, climb the next peak, master a challenging singletrack and enjoy a super speedy downhill run: in Thuringia, we’ve invented a new term for all of this – outdoor power.

Here, you can really let off steam on the 1,700 kilometres (1,050 mi) of cycle paths – whether you’re a hobby cyclist or professional athlete. The cycle paths and MTB trails lead you through the region’s remarkable landscapes: through valleys, along rivers, up to exposed peaks, to rock formations and over gently rolling countryside. The routes couldn’t be more varied.

In this Collection, we’ve put together our favourite outdoor power Tours, ranging in length from 34 to 69 kilometres (21 to 43 mi). They take you to the Beerberg, the highest mountain in Thuringia at 982 metres (3,221 ft), and along exhilarating downhill routes in the Thuringian Forest. Wonderful forest paths with challenging climbs and flat asphalt routes await too.

When you're out mountain biking in Thuringia, the next beautiful vantage point is never far away. You’ll ride up into the Thuringian Slate Mountains and to important places such as the Kyffhäuser Monument.

You can reach most of the Tours by train. You’ll also always find a parking space at the starting points. So choose the route that suits you best and set off on your next adventure.
