Jump right in! Swimming lakes in the Rhine-Neckar Triangle

Jump right in! Swimming lakes in the Rhine-Neckar Triangle

Collection by Michi1001

There’s only one thing to do in summer when it gets too sweaty in the city, there’s no breeze and asphalt seems to melt: grab your swimsuit, get out into nature and jump into cold water. Bring along your favourite people, a frisbee and a watermelon, and you’re all set. In this Collection, you'll find komoot users’ most popular swimming lakes in the Rhine-Neckar Triangle. Turquoise lakes, long sandy beaches, and small bays are all included so that you can chill out in any heat wave.

The Highlights are arranged from north to south. In some cases, you have to pay a small fee to use a seaside resort. However, many of the bathing spots are free to visit – at least if you arrive on foot or by bike. Pay attention to possible bathing or access restrictions when you arrive. They’re usually for your own protection or for the sensitive flora and fauna.

Do you know another beautiful bathing lake in this region or do you have up-to-date information about the Highlights in this Collection? Let me know in the comments.

I wish us all a splashing bathing season!

  5. Altrip: Blaue Adria

    Bike Touring Highlight

The Blue Adria is a well-known local recreation area just outside of Ludwigshafen. Endless lots with weekend cottages. Partly getting on in years and neglected, partly brought back to life by handsome new buildings. You can refresh yourself wonderfully on the gently sloping bathing beach.

  6. Great location on one of the most beautiful lakes in the area. Exclusive summer vegetarian cuisine. A few dishes and drinks are also available to take away. The main bathing beach is right next to it. Occasionally events take place.

  7. Kollerinsel: Schöner Naturstrand

    Hiking Highlight (Segment)

The sandy beach next to the campsite is open to everyone. Water sports enthusiasts and dog owners are particularly happy about this. There is a charge for parking if you don't want to walk a few minutes.

  8. The main beach with a small kiosk offers enough space for bathing fun, especially for families. If you like it a little quieter, you will still find your place in this extensive lake area even in the high season. Dogs that love to swim will experience their paradise just opposite. The remote eastern shore at Gänsedrecksee is mainly reserved for men bathing naked.

  9. Water sports enthusiasts in particular get their money's worth here: there is a water ski facility, a surfing and SUP center with rentals and opportunities for sailing or fishing. Access to the bathing area is subject to a charge.

  10. Mechtersheim: SunSeeBar
