These three city hikes are perfect if you’re in the mood for culture, architecture and plenty of fun. You’ll explore the most beautiful places on foot, with plenty of time to visit museums, churches and exhibitions. The first city that comes to mind when you think of Austria, is, of course, magnificent Vienna which has endless highlights. We’ve put together a great itinerary that takes you to the most impressive spots in and around the 1st district.
However, in this Collection, we don’t only focus on the capital; Wels and St Pölten are two insider tips that also have a lot to offer. Both cities are a pleasant size and great for a relaxing day trip. You can walk past impressive house facades, especially from the Baroque period, through historic alleys and visit various museums. You can easily reach the starting points by public transport so you can start your hike in a relaxed way.

Just a few minutes' walk from the main building, the ALBERTINA modern is the latest addition to Vienna's museum landscape and offers insights into the art world from 1945 to the present day. Klangturm St. Pölten
With a total height (including antenna) of 77 meters, the Klangturm St. Pölten is home to the state capital’s most beautiful viewing terrace. At a height of 47 meters, it can be reached either with the panorama lift or via 280 steps.
The Klangturm is also the landmark of St. Pölten, on the ground floor it has an information center that is available to all visitors to the country house and government district for information. Admission free!
