A nice walk despite the fog. Departure at the church of Denderbelle. You can also leave your car there. The blue signposts lead you through meadows and forest, along the Dender and back to your departure point.

Municipal parking lot at the forest next to the Eetcafé De Groene Wandeling. Started at junction 61 not far from the car park towards the forest. Walk along junctions 61 - 62 - 63 - 64 - 65 - 66 - 59 - 58 - 56 - 60. Little or nothing paved.

Started at Terlinden Castle. Parking nearby. A very nice walk, mostly on unpaved paths. But beware, try to do this in dry weather. When it has rained a lot in the days before, parts of the trails turn into mud. And both mud is not always fun. A quiet short bike ride on Sunday afternoon.

We parked at Taverne El Faro in Galmaarden and opted for the AS-Adventure walk Raspaillebos (asadventure.com/nl/expertise-tips/walking/Discover-de-A-S-Adventure-wandelroutes-van-Natuurpunt .html). To this we linked a short walk to Sint-Paulus and Wilderen.

Hidden treasures cycle route via nodes, a cycle route of Routen (tourism East Flanders) through the Waasland. Very varied, much car-free. More info: routen.be/hidden-treasures-fietsroute

Today a short walk to cool off in Lebbeke. A combination of three small forests: the Speelbos, the Wonderbos and the Poelbos. Even though these are small clumps, the difference in temperature was obvious.

A short walk in the woods to cool off. That always works.

Before it gets too hot, go cycling in the area. And indeed it stays nice and cool under the trees.
