Did you know that the most beautiful cycle rides in Thuringia, Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt are easily accessible by regional train? Hop on the saddle right at the stations on the regional rail routes and be enchanted by the diversity of the three federal states. You cycle along glittering rivers and lakes, dive into romantic valleys and enjoy enchanting views from picturesque vineyards. Charming old towns and pulsating metropolises offer you exciting contrasts to the relaxing landscapes.
In this Collection, we’ve put together seven varied Tours along the regional railway routes in Thuringia, Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt. The start and end points of the rides are all located at a railway station, so you can arrive and depart comfortably by train. To take your bike with you, it's best to buy a day ticket for local transport. Please check beforehand whether the route you want to take will be very busy or not, so that there is enough room for your bike on the train. You can also use the DB Ausflug app for this; it offers great bike features such as repair shops and bike rental companies so you can even set off without your own bike. For our Tours in this Collection, we have already picked out the right addresses so that you can hire your bike locally – always near the station. You can find information on many rental companies here: bahn.de/service/individuelle-reise/bahn_und_fahrrad/rad-nahverkehr or on callabike.de.
The starting points of the Tours are in Radebeul, Magdeburg, Leipzig, Eisenach, Dessau, Halle an der Saale and Jena. From Radebeul, you can explore the vineyards of the Dresden Elbland.
