Did you know that, in Bavaria, you can reach the most beautiful corners of the state easily and practically by regional train? From the stations, you can cycle along picturesque rivers, dive into romantic valleys and explore panoramic mountain ranges. Historic towns with charming half-timbered houses as well as pulsating metropolises offer fascinating contrasts to the relaxing natural landscapes.

In this Collection, we’ve put together seven varied Tours along Bavaria’s regional railway lines. The start and end points of the cycle Tours are all located at a railway station, so you can easily travel there by train. To take your bike with you, it’s best to buy a day ticket to ensure there’s enough room for your steed. You can also use the DB Ausflug app; it provides great cycling features, such as local repair shops and bike rental companies if you’d prefer not to bring your own. We’ve picked out the perfect bike rental shops for you, located near the stations in the Collection. You can find information about many rental companies here bahn.de/service/individuelle-reise/bahn_und_fahrrad/rad-nahverkehr or on callabike.de.

The Tours begin in Starnberg, Munich, Passau, Ingolstadt, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Bamberg and Aschaffenburg. From Starnberg you can cycle around Lake Starnberg and enjoy a blissful time in the saddle. From Munich, take a trip to Ismaning and visit the reservoir. Cycle along the beautiful Danube from Passau and Ingolstadt. Near Rothenburg ob der Tauber, you can dive into the lovely Tauber Valley and enjoy unforgettable views in the Frankenhöhe Nature Park. From Bamberg and Aschaffenburg, on the other hand, you can explore the beautiful Main cycle path.

The best thing is: after your bike ride, you simply jump back on the train at the end of the day and relax as it takes you back.
