As winter draws to a close, not only the first spring buds are blossoming in Kleinwalsertal. The animal inhabitants are also waking up from a well-deserved hibernation, like the marmots Burmi and Burmina, who are getting ready to accompany hikers through the wonderful landscapes of their homeland.

Mountain summer is one of the best times for hiking here in Vorarlberg, and Kleinwalsertal is the ideal terrain for nature and outdoor lovers of all kinds. It’s ideal for families as well and, because children love a little variety when hiking, these two marmots send them great adventures.

With colourful research tasks and experiments, Burmi and Burmina invite you to experience the special features and interrelationships of the natural environment from a different perspective, and to explore them on your own. The two marmots are the protagonists in the great nature adventure, which offers a series of themed expeditions for families in Kleinwalsertal.

In this Collection, we send you on hikes with Burmi and Burmina. We’ve six Tours for you and your family to enjoy. On one, you go in search of the Haspelwaldmändle; on another, you walk through the Gemsteltal equipped with a research book and radio play; or, you simply hike through picturesque landscapes and watch the munching cows, or discover the spectacular water power of the Breitachklamm gorge.

That's the plan for your family time in Kleinwalsertal. If you’d like more information on the naturalist adventures and the wide range of activities on offer, you can find it on the Kleinwalsertal website.
