Tyrol is well-known for breathtaking alpine landscapes. People from around the globe flock to the West Austrian state for all kinds of adventures. In this Collection, however, we reveal an almost forgotten corner of Tyrol: the Wipptal.

You might be familiar with the Brenner Pass to Italy. South of Innsbruck and before the Brenner Pass, a natural and cultural landscape of gentle beauty unfolds to the left and right. Wipptal is the name of the main valley along the Brenner road, from which five idyllic side valleys branch off.

Most of the 11 villages in the region are so unspoilt that it’s hard to believe that the Brenner route is just 15 minutes drive away. Among them are also some mountaineering villages of the Alpine clubs: St Jodok, Schmirn and Vals in the Zillertal Alps, as well as the Gschnitztal in the Stubai Alps.

The Tours in this Collection take you directly into the Wipptal region with its mountain valleys and villages. The starting points of the hikes are usually easy to reach by train or bus. But if in doubt, you’ll always find plenty of parking spaces.

We have put together a total of 10 hikes with varying degrees of difficulty, which we guarantee not everyone knows. You’ll be amazed by the untouched natural landscape and the serenity that you can still experience here in the mountains. Sometimes you may only meet one or two locals on the way.

Let yourself go on a journey of discovery in the Tyrolean Wipptal. We’re sure that you will never forget the experience.
