A tasty snack, a cool beer, a motivating schnapps: on these Black Forest gourmet trails, the focus is clearly on culinary delights alongside the enjoyment of nature. As you hike, you’ll find plenty of tasty stops where you can sample regional dishes.

Picture this: you’ve already been hiking awhile through the beautiful Black Forest, perhaps you have just completed a strenuous climb. Suddenly, a self-catering station appears at the side of the path. It could be a small wooden hut with regional delicacies such as Landjäger sausage, a freezer with ice cream made from fresh farm milk or a coolbox with a crate of beer. The small, open-air liquor bars are also particularly popular, allowing you to celebrate your adventures whilst you’re still on them.

All of the gourmet trails in the Black Forest have been designated premium trails by the German Hiking Institute. They’re varied and lead you away from roads and towns through unique landscapes with wild and romantic forests, meadows, gorges and valleys. You can expect wonderful half- and full-day Tours that show you some of the most beautiful places in the area. They also take you to the culinary highlights of the region: indulge in Baden wines and delicious regional Black Forest cuisine.

The Black Forest is easy to reach from all directions. Some of the gourmet trails are easy to reach by train, too. All other routes are close to bus stops or hikers' car parks, where you can start your adventure straightaway.

More and more people want to explore and experience the impressive nature in the Black Forest — whether by hiking, by cycling or on a mountain bike. But we as humans are only guests here in the Black Forest — and the animals and plants are our hosts. That's why #RespectForNature is mandatory for all nature lovers, because only with respect we'll preserve the Black Forest in its beauty for our descendants.

You can find out more about the #respectfornature initiative on our profile page komoot.com/user/schwarzwaldtourismus or at respekt-schwarzwald.info.
