If you're looking for a multi-day bike Tour that doesn't run along a river or in the mountains, then the Pit Stop Route could be just the thing for you. This 370-kilometre (229 mi) cycling route in Lower Saxony hardly has any climbs or hills so you can relax and enjoy the surroundings and many sights en route.

This Collection helps you slow down. Along the Pit Stop Route, there are many opportunities to rest and unwind in nature. Small lakes, enchanted mills in small forests or rest areas with beautiful views ensure that you make plenty of pit stops on your adventure. As well as resting, you’ll also learn about the moors, an ecologically and economically important part of the region's nature.

In places, my route deviates from the original, signposted route – a green-yellow Pit Stop Route sign with a green arrow. I made some adjustments to visit interesting places nearby. With the komoot app, it’s easy to navigate.

I divided the journey into six daily stages with only one brief climb (which rewards you with a magnificent view). Each stage ends in a place where you can find overnight accommodation. The first day sets off from Cloppenburg train station so you can easily arrive by train and leave your car at home. I wish you a lot of fun on this bike Tour and plenty of relaxation between the windmills, lakes and small towns of Lower Saxony.

Six days on the bike in the lowlands of Lower Saxony lie ahead of you. Today's first stage takes you almost 65 kilometers and a barely noticeable 110 meters in altitude from Cloppenburg via Friesoythe to Barßel, the northernmost point of your tour. And as befits the pit stop route, there are some nice

The second stage of the pit stop route from Barßel to Lindern is all about mills and moors. On the almost 60 flat kilometers there are also other highlights that I would like to recommend to you.

In Barßel you can pay another visit to the port, at the weekend there is also the possibility of a round trip

After so many sights on the second stage, on the third day on the pit stop route you can concentrate on cycling and many far-reaching views over the North German plain. On almost 63 kilometers, which are almost completely flat, you drive from Lindern via Löningen to your current destination Quakenbr

On the fourth stage of the pit stop route you decelerate further, but today I have something special for you in my luggage: You can finally climb a small climb on these approx. 56 kilometers. This is short and not worth mentioning, but it is the first smaller hill of your tour. And here in the north

The king's stage of the pit stop route is ahead of you, but don't worry - it won't be alpine, of course. But on the almost 53 kilometers you have to conquer more than 250 meters in altitude on the way from Lembruch am Dümmer to Vechta. I have picked out a few pit stops for you that can be combined with

Your last day on the pit stop route is coming up and with it the most daily kilometers with a total of 75. But these are again almost flat, so that you will arrive relaxed in Cloppenburg despite the length. On the way you have of course a few interesting spots that you can look at and where you can take
