Austria’s Kaiserwinkl hiking region, bordered by the Chiemgau Alps in the north and the Kaiser Mountains in the south, offers a huge variety of hiking routes. The varied trails on the gentle slopes of the Chiemgau Alps and in the high valleys of the Kaiserwinkl are ideally suited for family hikes. If you’re after challenging routes, you’ll find them under the mighty peaks of the Zahmen and Wilder Kaiser. Wonderful views, new perspectives at every turn, lush green meadows and rustic alpine pastures await you.
We’ve put together five fantastic hikes for you in this Collection. Two short Tours take you to picturesquely located alpine huts with friendly hosts and stunning panoramas. On a beautiful circular Tour, which you need a bit more stamina for, we take you to the Rudersberg peak. On the hikes to the Unterberghorn and the Scheibenkogel, you can prove your mountain legs with decent ascents.
You’ll find parking spaces at all starting points. There are also alpine huts and refreshment stops along the trails, but since the friendly innkeepers sometimes have a day off, you'd better find out about the opening times before you start your hike. Now you're ready to go! Lace up your hiking boots, bring enough drinks and don't forget your camera.

The mountain Rudersburg is right on the border between Tyrol and Bavaria. At 1,430 meters it is not particularly high. But when you get to the top, you can see almost everything. But that's not the only reason why the hike to the Rudersburg is one of the insider tips in Kaiserwinkl. It's also because…
