This unique gravel adventure takes you on fine gravel roads all the way across Germany's highest low mountain range. You’ll explore the heights of the Black Forest with all its facets: moss green forests, crystal clear lakes and lush meadows impress just as much as the beautiful views of the Rhine plain and the delicious Black Forest delicacies.

We’ve divided the Black Forest Cycle Route into six stages. You’ll follow the signs with the red rhombus and the bicycle symbol on peaceful forest paths and cover a total of 375 kilometres (233 mi). On the route, you will gain almost 8,000 metres (26,250 ft) of elevation, which is why you should have a good level of fitness.

As both the start and the finish are conveniently located at a railway station, getting there and back is straightforward. So, now all you have to do is grab your gravel bike and start cycling.

More and more people want to explore and experience the impressive nature in the Black Forest — whether by hiking, by cycling or on a mountain bike. But we as humans are only guests here in the Black Forest — and the animals and plants are our hosts. That's why #RespectForNature is mandatory for all nature lovers, because only with respect we'll preserve the Black Forest in its beauty for our descendants.

You can find out more about the #respectfornature initiative on our profile page komoot.com/user/schwarzwaldtourismus or at respekt-schwarzwald.info.
