Pedalling this small portion of the legendary Grandes Alpes road to the Col de l'Iseran is truly unique. At an altitude of more than 2,700 metres (8,858 ft), it’s the highest asphalt pass in Europe. Without a doubt, I prefer the southern side which is sunnier and easier. The north side, from Val d'Isère, is close to the ski slopes.
The pass is open from the beginning of June (or the end of May for the most courageous) to the end of October. Choose your side and discover this superb pass.
