The Meraner Land and Vinschgau regions in the west of South Tyrol are a true outdoor paradise: fantastic peaks, green rivers, rustic alpine pastures and vast mountain forests offer variety and show off this incredible landscape. The Vinschgau wind usually ensures sunny weather here and the Merano even has a Mediterranean climate. Around Merano and in the Vinschgau Valley you can bike at all altitudes – between an altitude of 325 metres (1,066 ft) (Merano) and almost 3,000 metres (9,840 ft) (Madritschjoch), you can expect everything your biker's heart desires, from cosy forest paths to stony mountain trails. Here, you really ride between palm trees and glaciers.

In this Collection, we present six Tours that wonderfully reflect the diversity of this region and serve as inspiration. Bike guide and host Boris from the Design Hotel Tyrol has put together four of the Tours for us, and two others come from our BikeHotels South Tyrol feed. Staying in one of our bike hotels in one of the best things and your bike will be happy and safe too. Thanks to the very good connection of this region to the railway network, you can also arrive quite relaxed by train. Pack your mountain bike and enough sunscreen – the Mediterranean Merano and the gorgeous Vinschgau await!

Steaming dumplings, tender bacon and a fresh piece of strudel - these delicacies are waiting for you in several huts, but you have to earn them first. The Goldseetrail is a real classic that should not be missing in any tour book. The ancient and partly quite exposed path connects the Vinschgau with Bormio and is also heavily frequented by hikers. For this reason, bikers have to make room for hikers from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and should therefore be at
