How do three simple days on the road with your bike, alternating between mountains and flatlands, sound to you? This sporty bikepacking Tour takes you and your bike through the entire Osnabrück region in Germany.
At first glance, the Osnabrück region may seem rather unspectacular. But, when you take a closer look, you realise how varied, beautiful and adventurous our region is. The wonderful landscapes are characterised by meadows and fields in the north and the foothills of the Teutoburg Forest in the south. In the heart of the UNESCO Global Geopark TERRA.vita, the lovely city of Osnabrück awaits.
This 250-kilometre (155 mi) Tour starts at the main station in Osnabrück. The main challenge is the daily distance of around 80 kilometres (49.7 mi). You’ll also climb around 1,300 metres (4,265 ft) in altitude, especially through the Teutoburg Forest.
This three-stage circular journey mostly follows paved roads through the landscapes – ideal for a long weekend. We’ve designed the stages so that you can find a nice place to pitch your tent on a farm or campsite by a secluded lake – the best way to relax. However, it’s best to reserve accommodation beforehand to make sure there’s space for you and your tent on the day. The route takes you to small towns and villages so you can easily stock up on food and drink en route. All you need is your bike, a tent and an adventurous spirit.
It’s up to you how you end your bikepacking trip. If time allows, Osnabrück is great to explore; take a stroll through the old town and discover the most beautiful aspects of the city of peace.
What are you waiting for? Get your bike ready and enjoy your time in the Osnabrück region!
