The Vinschgau Valley is more popular with mountain bikers than almost any other region in Italy for many reasons. Situated between the Ortler group and the main ridge, majestic peaks rise to the north and south of the valley and you can bike all the way up these spectacular mountains. The region’s inner-alpine island location also means that the climate is mild and sunny – perfect for biking. Combined with the South Tyrolean way of life which focuses on enjoyment and excellent cuisine, you’ve got a perfect package for mountain biking, regardless whether you are a tourer, enduro rider or e-biker.
The market town of Naturno is located in the east of the Vinschgau Valley and is an ideal base camp for your biking holidays in the region. On the shaded side of the valley on the Nörderberg, you find numerous Tour possibilities of all difficult levels. In this Collection, we present 10 Tours that range from easy rides along forest roads to challenging single trail adventures. The Merano Bike Highline runs high above the valley, connecting numerous alpine pastures, so you can combine many of the routes presented here.
If you like natural singletrack, you’ll definitely enjoy Naturno. Many of the routes that wind their way from the Bike Highline into the valley are actually hiking trails, but you’re permitted to use them as a rider too. Make sure you are considerate of other trail users so this can continue to work so well.
Back in the valley, there are various first-class accommodation options that specialise in hosting riders. Whether you enjoy a dip in the pool, a regenerative yoga session or relaxing under palm trees and apple trees – the possibilities are as varied as the region itself. There are numerous activities that will make your mountain biking holiday truly special: a trip with the cable car up the Sonnenberg or a wine tasting are just two of them.
