When my grandparents were younger, they were diehard cyclists, just like my parents. I don't get my own love for the bicycle from a stranger ;-)

  2. Vineyard gravel with beautiful views

    Bike Touring Highlight (Segment)

One of the many beautiful gravel roads around the Moselle river.
The gravel is occasionally stony, but hardpack and therefore perfect for gravel bikes. Very quiet road that is only used by local winegrowers or the occasional cyclist or walker.

  4. Steep Gravel Climb

    Bike Touring Highlight (Segment)

Nice steep gravel climb as an alternative to the busier highway up. You will have to stand on the pedals for a while, but with a good gravel resistance on your bike it is certainly doable. Nice challenge ;-)

  5. Aussichtspunkt Dhrönchen

    Mountain Biking Highlight

Beautiful view over the green wooded valley. A little further on the climb you get a beautiful view over the Moselle and the river valley. Wonderfully quiet place.

  6. Idyllischer Weg durch die Weinreben

    Mountain Biking Highlight (Segment)

Beautiful hard gravel road at a height that along the steep wall gives beautiful views over the valley below and the Moselle river.

  7. Gravel in and out of town

    Bike Touring Highlight (Segment)

Rural gravel road that is sometimes a bit rough, but always good for cycling. The gravel road is at the top of a short steep climb from the center of Hetzerath.

  8. 💚 BEAUTIFUL Gravel Climb 💚

    Bike Touring Highlight (Segment)

Stop looking... this is the place to be!The southern Eifel and Moselle region is full of beautiful gravel roads, each more beautiful than the other. But this road was the biggest surprise during my bike ride here. In a beautiful open forest, this hard wide gravel road meanders gently up to the top. Wonderfully quiet and great for cycling with your gravel bike. At the bottom of the climb (or descent) you cycle past Föhren Castle. There are a lot more of these beautiful gravel roads around this road that feel like you are cycling through a park.
All in all, a huge recommendation!
