Have you always wanted to visit the city of canals and canals? Experience world-class culture and fascinating museums and architecture? Then get on your bike and head to Amsterdam! Nowhere else is cycling as much a part of the city's culture as it is here. Of course, you don't have to bike all the way to Amsterdam. From Stuttgart, for example, it is only about six hours by train to the Dutch metropolis.
Once there, you can discover Amsterdam and its beautiful metropolitan region with I amsterdam's cycleseeing bike routes. Learn about the history and tradition of Dutch seafaring, take in the fresh coastal air, and visit centuries-old castles while cycling through vast fields of flowers. You'll soon see: Amsterdam has much more to offer than canals and clogs!
Here in this collection we show you a selection of our most beautiful cycleseeing routes. The best thing about it is that since they are all circuits, you can start your bike tour wherever you want and get on anywhere along the routes. Why not start a little outside the city and take a trip into the city?
On the way, many of the nice street cafes or stylish restaurants invite you to take a break. So you don't have to worry about provisions for your tour. By the way: If you don't want to take your own bike with you on the train, just rent one locally - the many bike rental shops in and around Amsterdam make it possible.
What's missing now: Your ticket to Amsterdam! And perhaps also the I amsterdam City Card: It is especially worthwhile for a stay of several days in the city and offers you admission to all major attractions and over 70 museums. Public transportation is included as well as a canal tour and you can even rent your bike for free with the City Card.

No other landscape in the Netherlands quite represents the 20th century as Nieuw Land (New Land). The modern polder towns here are true architectural museums. The nature reserves, such as Lepelaarplassen and Oostvaardersplassen, are a beautiful contrast to this.
In this new land, you are actually cycling…

Have you ever been to a city on the seabed? Lelystad may not be Atlantis, but it is the youngest coastal city in the Netherlands. It is named after Cornelis Lely, a politician and civil engineer, who designed the Zuiderzee works, turned the Zuiderzee into a lake and turned the seabed into dry land.
The…

Bijlmer is the neighbourhood of neighbourhoods. The official name is Amsterdam-Zuidoost and Bijlmermeer, but the people who live here call the neighbourhood 'Bijlmer' for short. The neighbourhood has a turbulent history. In the 1970s, people dreamed of 'green living' but in the 1980s decay set in followed…
