Alsace Day 1: After our arrival in Colmar this afternoon we went on our first tour of discovery - a round north of Colmar was planned. First we had to cross the less beautiful industrial areas of Colmar for about 10 km before we reached the first corn fields and the beautiful part of the tour began. Via Houssen and …

Alsace Day 2: Today there was a round of leisurely cycling with sightseeing in the tourist villages and I am still totally impressed by what we have seen. Even though it was only 40 miles, we were out all day and I could have taken hundreds more photos. We started again in Colmar and this time it was only 4 …

Alsace Day 3: After the vineyards and half-timbered houses yesterday, today's motto was "Water" - my favorite element. From Colmar it went first along the Canal de Colmar to Artzenheim and further on the Canal du Rhone au Rhin to Marckolsheim. Here we turned towards the German border and over the Grand Canal d´Alsace and over the Rhine. We are …

Alsace Day 4: Today we went from Colmar to the beautiful Munstertal to Munster. Past Turckheim and through the vineyards we went partly on bike paths and partly on the road to our first coffee break in Munster. I didn't really like the city itself, but the Munster cheese and the baguette that we got for the first picnic were …

Alsace Day 5: After it rained a lot when we got up today, we exchanged the e-bike for the hiking boots and drove into the Vosges to Orbey and made the 3 lakes tour, an approx. 12 km hike with almost 500 meters of altitude. Even if it rained in the first half and the view wasn't great either, it …

I used the way to the bakery today for an early tour of the city. At half past eight only the street cleaners and the pigeons were out, even the bakery was still empty. Wonderful to stroll through the empty streets. Speed and duration are not right today. I was on the move for an hour.

Since our accommodation is not far from the old town, we used the path to dinner for a short walk and got our first impressions of the city. There wasn't so much going on on Thursday evening and the seats in and in front of the restaurants were by no means all occupied. At the weekend it looks completely different, …

Alsace Day 6: On the way home from Alsace, we took a little e-bike ride from Bad Bergzabern. We started towards Birkenhördt and Erlenbach and then we went on to Lautertal and Wissembourg and back to Bad Bergzabern. A very varied round through the Palatinate Forest, past many small lakes, through the beautiful Lautertal with a stop in Wissembourg for …
