The Alpkit Big Shakeout is back with a weekend of adventure and entertainment in the heart of the Peak District. To celebrate the festival’s return, we’ve compiled a Collection of awesome bike rides starting right from the campsite. Whether you’re into MTB, road, gravel or family-friendly tours, you’ll find inspiration here.

For mountain bikers, we showcase some classic Derbyshire bridleways, wonderful moorland singletrack, bone-shaking downhills and technical woodland descents. For road riders, we take on some iconic climbs, feverishly-fast descents and winding country lanes with great views. For gravel riders, we reveal miles of dusty farm tracks, serene bridleways and time-frozen former railway line trails.

Each Tour explores interesting sites, breathtaking viewpoints and places where you can sample local delicacies. So, what are you waiting for? Strap on your helmet and discover the epic riding nearby!

The Alpkit Big Shakeout will take place at the Thornbridge Outdoors Centre. The format is simple: active days and entertaining evenings.

Day activities include wild swimming, learning the art of tarpology, food foraging and axe-throwing. When the sun goes down, you can watch adventure films, listen to live music or simply chat with new and old friends around the campfire.

If you have a taste for adventure, want to be inspired and try something new, the Big Shakeout is for you. It's a not-for-profit festival run by Alpkit, the outdoor retailer, with all proceeds donated to the Alpkit Foundation. This is Alpkit’s independent charity, set up to remove barriers to getting outdoors and experiencing wild places.

Location: Thornbridge Outdoors Centre, Great Longstone, Bakewell, Derbyshire, DE45 1NY. Tickets available from alpkit.com/bigshakeout.
