Around the Hessian town of Rüdesheim in the Rhine Valley, there are many fantastic hiking trails that lead you to the most beautiful places in the region. As you walk, you’ll be accompanied by magnificent views of the picturesque Middle Rhine Valley, romantic vineyards, magnificent castles and fascinating history. And so you can fully enjoy these adventures, six trail sponsors have made it their task to keep the most picturesque hiking trails in excellent condition.
In 2021, six hiking trails around Rüdesheim were either overhauled or newly developed. The six sponsors now take care of their maintenance. Twice a year, the trail patrons walk their allocated route, checking the signposting and cleanliness. In this Collection, these passionate hikers introduce you to the routes and tell you what makes their favourite trail so special. And since they know their routes metre by metre, there’s plenty of information about the region and personal tips to boot.
All six hikes are designed as circular routes. The trail sponsors also provide information on how to reach each one. The routes are very varied: you can follow in the footsteps of the Benedictine abbess Saint Hildegard von Bingen, learn more about the pottery tradition in the region or enjoy the benefits of a landscape characterised by viticulture. There are refreshment stops along all the paths, or you can take a picnic and marvel at the vineyard views.
Let the trail sponsors guide you around Rüdesheim and enjoy the beautiful landscapes along the Rhine. Heike, Christian, Marina, Jaqueline, Sissi & Wilhelm, and Michael wish you lots of fun!
