Don't let the weather stop you! Win with Five Ten! – Ore Mountains

Mountain Biking Collection by adidas Five Ten

Autumn is approaching and with it comes fog, drizzle, slush and chilly temperatures. Reasons to wrap up and draw the curtains? Absolutely not! Because you're not made of sugar and a bike ride is certainly not only worthwhile when the sun is shining. That's exactly what we want to prove to you with this Collection.

The forests, heathlands and former open-cast mining areas around Leipzig and Dresden will make your heart race even in bad weather, whether you’re a mountain biker or a cyclist. The Ore Mountains a little further south are an absolute trail mecca. But even if the trails get too muddy, you'll find a cornucopia of bad-weather alternatives here.

Monastery ruins, old castles and enchanted palaces become particularly mysterious when surrounded by dark clouds. In the event of a short rain shower, simply retreat to a cosy shelter or an observation tower. How about a guided trip underground to the German-Czech border in the Zinnwald mine? Of course, the gigantic relics of the open-cast mine in the south of Leipzig are great to explore even without sunshine. What's more, a cloudy sky makes for wonderfully atmospheric photos. And, if the weather just doesn't want to improve, you'll find some very special treats on your cycle route, especially in Leipzig with the unique Panometer Museum and the aeroplane restaurant.

And no matter what conditions await you, no matter what terrain, with the adidas Five Ten Trailcross mountain biking shoe, you can explore even the most remote forests all year round. Its waterproof, breathable GORE-TEX membrane keeps your feet pleasantly dry even in rain and snow. The non-slip rubber outsole guarantees optimum grip on the pedals and its flexible neoprene upper keeps mud and small stones out. So nothing, not even the worst weather, will stop you from your bike ride.

To motivate you even more, we're organising a competition for you:

- Grab a Highlight from the Collection or find another great destination and plan your own Tour in wet weather.
- Take a few photos during the Tour to capture the atmosphere and include the hashtag #brandofthebrave in the Tour title.
- Follow adidas Five Ten on komoot and tag us as a participant of the Tour.

We will raffle off two Five Ten Trailcross packages among all participants. Each package includes the Five Ten Trailcross GORE-TEX mountain bike shoe and a Five Ten TrailX long-sleeve. If, for any reason, these products are not available, the winners will instead receive a 250 euro voucher for the online shop at adidas.de.

    Erlebnis Wasserwerk

    Mountain Biking Highlight

The lovingly designed waterworks experience is part of the Seifersdorf hydroelectric power station. A wooden bridge takes you to the small open-air exhibition, where you can marvel at the reconstructed Francis shaft turbine. It was destroyed in the flood in 2002. You can also lend a hand here on the energy adventure trail and simulate the function of the motor and generator.

    Besucherbergwerk Zinnwald

    Mountain Biking Highlight

Descend and immerse yourself in the fascinating history of mining at the Zinnwald visitor mine. As the name suggests, tin was mined in the mine from the 16th to the 19th century. In a one and a half hour tour you can explore the tunnels and cavities on a tour of about two and a half kilometers. And not only that: You also get to an underground mountain lake and the state border with the Czech Republic underground. A special experience for young and old.

    Mountain Biking Highlight

A stop at this point is a must on your way along the Stoneman Miriquidi! In dirty weather with a corresponding patina on your bike, your selfie with the oversized Stoneman trophy will look particularly good. If necessary, the nice neighbor will be happy to take a picture of you.

By the way, behind the Stoneman Miriquidi there is an adventure trail through the Ore Mountains, where you can earn the trophy yourself. When you start and how much time you take for it is entirely up to you. You can read how it all works and where to register here: stoneman-miriquidi.com

    Panometer Leipzig

    Bike Touring Highlight

There is a 360 ° picture in the panometer. In the middle there is a scaffolding so that you can see the picture from all perspectives. We have already looked at it twice. Once the Battle of the Nations and once the Titanic (see my pictures). The Battle of Nations was the much better motive. Much more details could be seen here.
