Don't let the weather stop you! Win with Five Ten! – Tirol

Mountain Biking Collection by adidas Five Ten

Autumn is approaching and with it comes fog, drizzle, slush and chilly temperatures. Reasons to wrap up and draw the curtains? Absolutely not! Because you're not made of sugar and a bike ride is certainly not only worthwhile when the sun is shining. That's exactly what we want to prove to you with this Collection.

We invite you to discover Austria’s Tirol region through 16 Highlights that are fantastic even in grey weather. We’ve concentrated on the regions of Ötztal, Zillertal and the area around Innsbruck, where there’s tons to do. Tirol is one of the most popular holiday regions in Austria and attracts visitors with beautiful Alpine panoramas, exhilarating sporting action and, of course, a wide range of huts, alpine pastures and resorts. Here, you can easily give the bad weather the cold shoulder.

Area 47, for example, promises unadulterated adventure even in bad weather, because you can try out a wide variety of sports in the extensive grounds: would you like to go rafting, wakeboarding or canyoning? If you’re jumping into the water anyway, a few drops of rain won't matter.

A ride on Innsbruck's Hungerburg cable car is also a great experience. Here, elegant and futuristic architecture meets the most beautiful views over a region often cited as Austria's outdoor capital. But there's a lot more waiting for you: wellness, an adventure walk in the stone pine forest, craggy glaciers, a 007 film location, a show dairy and an ice water bath. If this great offer doesn't make you long for bad weather, we don't know what will!

Let our suggestions inspire you: there is no such thing as bad weather, you just need the right experiences!

And no matter what conditions await you, no matter what terrain, with the adidas Five Ten Trailcross mountain biking shoe, you can explore even the most remote forests all year round. Its waterproof, breathable GORE-TEX membrane keeps your feet pleasantly dry even in rain and snow. The non-slip rubber outsole guarantees optimum grip on the pedals and its flexible neoprene upper keeps mud and small stones out. So nothing, not even the worst weather, will stop you from your bike ride.

To motivate you even more, we're organising a competition for you:

- Grab a Highlight from the Collection or find another great destination and plan your own Tour in wet weather.
- Take a few photos during the Tour to capture the atmosphere and include the hashtag #brandofthebrave in the Tour title.
- Follow adidas Five Ten on komoot and tag us as a participant of the Tour.

We will raffle off two Five Ten Trailcross packages among all participants. Each package includes the Five Ten Trailcross GORE-TEX mountain bike shoe and a Five Ten TrailX long-sleeve. If, for any reason, these products are not available, the winners will instead receive a 250 euro voucher for the online shop at adidas.de.

Here in the Tyrolean Oberland you can not only discover a beautiful, old stone pine forest, but also find art embedded in this rustic landscape. On your way through the forest you will find numerous sculptures made of stone pine, a barbecue area at the small mountain lake and a true-to-original bark hut - pure forest feeling. You can reach the sculpture park in just under an hour from the Wildmoos car park on foot or via the forest path by bike. The Radurschlalm is about 500 meters away, where you can stop for a break.

    Stuibenfall Umhausen

    Mountain Biking Highlight

At 159 meters, the Stuibenfall near Umhausen in the Ötztal is the waterfall in Tyrol with the highest drop. Up to 2,000 liters flow over the edge of the rock every second. The natural event owes its name to the dusting (Stuiben) of the spray. You can reach the area by bike and explore the waterfall on foot. Over around 700 steps and over an exposed, 80-meter-long suspension bridge, you hike past viewing platforms and the thundering water to the starting point of the waterfall in Niederthai. From May to October, the Stuibenfall is also illuminated every Wednesday until midnight. You can reach the waterfall from the Ötzi village, which, by the way, is also worth a visit.

Have you always wanted to go for a walk under and in a glacier? Welcome to the Hintertux Glacier. The natural ice palace is a beautiful natural gem that absolutely lives up to its name. Because it sparkles and glitters like in a queen's palace, only that you are not in a magnificent castle, but in a bizarre ice landscape.

The entrance to the ice cave is only a few minutes' walk from the mountain station of the glacier bus three. On guided tours you will get to know the wonderful world deep under the ski slopes. A special highlight is the glacier lake, on which you can go stand-up paddles or take a boat. Hard-core even jump into the water. But for this you need a proof of health.

    Silberbergwerk Schwaz

    Mountain Biking Highlight

The mine in Schwaz was the largest silver mine of the late Middle Ages. Up to 10,000 miners looked for and found silver and copper here 500 years ago and made the city of Schwaz one of the largest mining metropolises in the world. Today you get an exciting insight into bygone times, you can drive a lorry and learn everything you need to know from the knowledgeable staff. Since it's only around twelve degrees down here, you should pack warm clothes. During the day you can fortify yourself in the restaurant or browse the silver shop.

    Schlegeisspeicher

    Mountain Biking Highlight

From here you have an impressive view of the Schlegeis reservoir, which at 725 meters is the longest dam wall of the VERBUND hydropower plants. In total, the reservoir can store 126.5 million cubic meters of water.

The toll road to Schlegeis leads over several hairpin bends up to the free car park. Of course, you can also comfortably cover the route by bike. :)

The toll road closes in mid-October and opens again in spring.

    Karwendelhaus

    Mountain Biking Highlight

The first ascent on the classic Karwendel circuit is done when you have reached the Karwendelhaus. But day-trippers are also in good hands here. The view of the Karwendeltal and the western Karwendelspitze is simply fantastic.

A little refreshment on the wonderful sun terrace or in the cozy, over 100-year-old dining room? The staff is very friendly, batteries from e-bikes can be charged, repair options for hiking and biking items, compressed air pumps for all bicycle valves ... mountain bikers are welcome here!

    Erlebnis-Sennerei Zillertal

    Mountain Biking Highlight

Have you always wanted to know how cheese is made? Then you are exactly right here. The family business in Mayrhofen produces dairy products and cheese on 6,000 square meters. At eleven stations you will learn the secrets of milk processing and cheese production. In the show dairy, for example, you can see live how the Zillertal hay milk is processed into butter, cheese and yoghurt. And if you want, you can take the products home with you as a delicious holiday souvenir in the shop of the alpine dairy.

    Talschluss Stubaier Gletscher

    Mountain Biking Highlight

The impressive Stubai Glacier rises imposingly over the head of the valley at the end of the Stubai Valley. The ski area extends to a height of up to 3,210 meters and is the largest of the glacier ski areas in Austria.

At the beginning, the road into the Stubai Valley was not very appealing to me, as it was perfectly developed for tourism. But from the middle of the approximately 30-kilometer-long valley, there is a wide and pristine high valley with less buildings, narrower and more winding roads and always with a view of the mighty glacier ahead - great cinema! And if you want to take a closer look at the glacier, take the train up and explore the eternal ice with a great view!

    Innsbruck Altstadt

    Mountain Biking Highlight

Mountain bikers and downhillers shape the city's image: they can be seen everywhere; in the morning, at noon, after work. Innsbruck and biking belong together just like bacon dumplings and sauerkraut. Apropos: Innsbruck is worthwhile even after biking. You can enjoy delicious food from traditional to international and on rainy days you can just go to the movies. This unique combination of alpine adventure and urban lifestyle is what makes Innsbruck a biking destination so special.

How about a little "digestive night ride" after dinner in the city? Cycling through the city reveals its beauty particularly well. In Innsbruck you drive past old walls, museums, churches and sights like the imperial Hofburg, the Hofkirche and the famous Goldene Dachl.

    Seebensee

    Mountain Biking Highlight

The Seebensee lies at an altitude of about 1,657 meters just above the Ehrwalder Alm in the Mieminger Mountains. For me it is one of the most beautiful mountain lakes with a wonderful view of the Zugspitze, the Vorderen Taja- and Drachenkopf and the Ehrwalder Sonnenspitze. From here you can go on numerous, demanding mountain tours ... provided you are not surprised by the thunderstorm ... ;-) And it is absolutely addictive !!! The lake can be easily reached from Ehrwald or Leutasch - don't forget your bike! ;-) The route by bike from the valley station of the Ehrwalder Alm to the mountain station is quite steep and only recommended for fit bikers. "The good guys can do it in under 30 minutes", I had the lift staff tell me. I preferred to take my bike with me into the gondola - which was possible without any problems and at no extra charge! Another and much more scenic variant with the mountain bike is the route from Leutasch in a pleasant incline and partly flat through the beautiful Gaistal, always with a view of the Mieminger chain and the Wetterstein Mountains, past the Igelsee to the Seebenalm and finally a little steeper over coarse gravel to the Seebensee. Paid parking spaces are located in 6105 Leutasch, Klamm 1. There are several parking spaces one behind the other; the last one even has a building with toilets. Tip: The Seebensee is just below the Coburger Hütte. The approximately 250 meters in altitude can be easily reached in a 30-minute walk.

    Matreier Ochsenalm

    Mountain Biking Highlight

The Matreier Ochsenalm is located near the Maria Waldrast monastery at the foot of the Serles in the Stubai Alps.
Here you can look forward to delicious, homemade traditional home cooking. When the weather is nice, you can sit on the sun terrace, when the weather is bad, you can sit in the cozy, cozy parlor. The Alm has existed for several hundred years, only the Alm building has recently been renovated. The hut is managed both in summer and in winter. The Matreier Ochsenalm is a worthwhile, very hospitable stop in the Wipptal!

    Nordkette Hungerburg

    Bike Touring Highlight

The Hungerburgbahn is the architectural masterpiece by Zaha Hadid and impresses with four futuristic stations. It runs underground, above ground and through tunnels and is an important link up to the Top of Innsbruck. To continue to Hafelekar, take the Nordkettenbahn. From up here you can enjoy a magnificent view of the outdoor capital of the Alps and the Karwendel Mountains.

And this is your ride on the Hungerburgbahn: The valley station is not far from the Golden Roof. The way up is adventurous and entertaining: out of the city center, over the Inn and then steeply up, past the Alpenzoo to the terminus at Hermann Buhl Platz. There is a lot to see and after the new construction of the railway, new sights of the city have been created - from the stylish stations to the viewing terrace.
