Don't let the weather stop you! Win with Five Ten! – Hamburg

Mountain Biking Collection by adidas Five Ten

Autumn is approaching and with it comes fog, drizzle, slush and chilly temperatures. Reasons to wrap up and draw the curtains? Absolutely not! Because you're not made of sugar and a bike ride is certainly not only worthwhile when the sun is shining. That's exactly what we want to prove to you with this Collection.

We show you the most beautiful sights in and around Hamburg and the Lüneburg Heath, which have their own special charm even without sunshine. We take you to the forest, the moor and the heathland, where a mystical atmosphere surrounds you on rainy days. From great vantage points you can let your gaze wander over the fascinating landscape and see the mist rising from the forests. Along the River Elbe, you can hear the raindrops hitting the water and fall into an almost meditative state. And when you've had enough of the mixed weather, you can take a detour through the Old Elbe Tunnel or warm up in one of the cosy restaurants and huts. Dry and refreshed, you'll be ready for more adventures, whatever the weather.

And no matter what conditions await you, no matter what terrain, with the adidas Five Ten Trailcross mountain biking shoe, you can explore even the most remote forests all year round. Its waterproof, breathable GORE-TEX membrane keeps your feet pleasantly dry even in rain and snow. The non-slip rubber outsole guarantees optimum grip on the pedals and its flexible neoprene upper keeps mud and small stones out. So nothing, not even the worst weather, will stop you from your bike ride.

To motivate you even more, we're organising a competition for you:

- Grab a Highlight from the Collection or find another great destination and plan your own Tour in wet weather.
- Take a few photos during the Tour to capture the atmosphere and include the hashtag #brandofthebrave in the Tour title.
- Follow adidas Five Ten on komoot and tag us as a participant of the Tour.

We will raffle off two Five Ten Trailcross packages among all participants. Each package includes the Five Ten Trailcross GORE-TEX mountain bike shoe and a Five Ten TrailX long-sleeve. If, for any reason, these products are not available, the winners will instead receive a 250 euro voucher for the online shop at adidas.de.

    Alter Elbtunnel

    Mountain Biking Highlight (Segment)

The Elbtunnel is an absolute highlight on a tour through Hamburg! Where else can you ride your bike through a tunnel that can only be accessed by lifts? When we were there, the tunnel was closed to traffic, which makes it pleasant.

Moin moin, a trip to the tower is always worthwhile. I like to be there. By the way, the previous tower was called "Langer Otto".

    Stellmoor

    Mountain Biking Highlight (Segment)

Beautiful area at the gates of Hamburg. And not for nothing a nature reserve that you should drive with an extra dose of respect. Better get off and push.

    Seevengeti Aussichtsplattform

    Bike Touring Highlight

If you drive through the nature reserve of the Seeveniederung, you will also pass the Seevengeti project. Depending on the season, you can watch hundreds of (migratory) birds at and on the lake. Binoculars are often helpful here, however.

    Regionalpark Rosengarten

    Mountain Biking Highlight (Segment)

South of Harburg, the Leine-Heide cycle path leads through the extensive forests of the Regional Park Rosengarten. Sometimes on paved and sometimes on paved gravel paths it goes through beech and mixed forests.

    Kärntner Hütte

    Mountain Biking Highlight

There is delicious, inexpensive Austrian cuisine here. The Kaiserschmarrn: Really delicious! Meeting point for many mountain bikers with a large parking lot.

The Zollenspieker Fährhaus is a great location for a break. In summer you can sit on the terrace or in the beer garden and strengthen yourself. In the colder months of the year, the winter garden and the fireplace bar beckon to warm up.

The small level house is a special highlight. It is the smallest restaurant in the world and is located on the Elbe. Two or four people can dine in the small room. You can only reserve the table in the level house by calling 040 793133-0.

    Die Weseler Heide im Herbst

    Mountain Biking Highlight (Segment)

The heather is not only fascinating in August, when it is in bloom, but in every season of the year. In autumn it shows itself again from a very special side, when the leaves of the trees turn into beautiful yellow, orange and red tones. Mixed with the evergreen conifers, this is pure eye candy.

    Wilsede

    Mountain Biking Highlight

The small town of Wilsede in the heart of the Lüneburg Heath is a sleepy nest almost all year round! However, when the sun shines in August and the heather starts to bloom, visitors from all over the world come to enjoy the beautiful heather landscape. Wilsede is practically the center of this spectacle. As a cyclist or hiker, you can get a lot of information about the heather, souvenirs and of course coffee and cake! You MUST visit this place!

    Holmer Mühle

    Mountain Biking Highlight

This mill has a long history: the power of water has been used here since 1567. In between, it was burned down, rebuilt, restored and then finally shut down in the 1970s. Until it was revived by an association. Since then the mill has been used for lectures, exhibitions and concerts. There is also a grinding day every second Saturday of the month. Different millers then come here and use their organic grain to make flour that you can buy on site. If you come here on a meal between 10.30 a.m. and 1 p.m., it is definitely worth stopping by the old mill.

    Ohlsdorfer Friedhof

    Mountain Biking Highlight

The Ohlsdorfer Friedhof is the largest cemetery in Europe and has its own infrastructure, such as its own bus stops and road network. The use of the streets by bike is officially approved, but you have to be careful not to overtake any funeral procession! In addition, some of the access gates will be closed overnight. You should keep this in mind if the tour takes longer in summer.

At the former beacon in Bunthausenspitze, the Elbe divides into the North and South Elbe for 15 kilometers, until both arms converge again at Altona.
The beacon has not been in operation for a long time, but a detour is definitely worth it!

From up here you have a great view of the Elbe. It is particularly beautiful here in the evening when the sun slides deeper and deeper over the Elbe and finally sets.

    Super Weg entlang des Flughafenzauns

    Mountain Biking Highlight (Segment)

There is always something to see along the runways on the airport grounds. Numerous benches offer good opportunities to take a break, some with a wide view of the slopes. The path is mostly gravel / gravel, on a few sections also paved / tarred.
