Hiking Collection by komoot

    Steinachklamm

    Hiking Highlight

Nobody knows where the volcano erupted, bringing the white and greenish-gray quartz keratophyr into the Steinach Gorge. The special climate in the gorge, which is due to the rock, the natural river and the floodplain forests, makes it a suitable home for endangered fish and bird species. And who can not do anything with all this, will simply enjoy the aesthetics of the wild and romantic natural monument.

By the way, the shortest access directly to the gorge is possible from the Steinachtal south of Wildenstein.

    Bodetal

    Hiking Highlight (Segment)

The wild and romantic Bodetal is one of the highlights of every Harz visit. It is one of the oldest nature reserves in Germany, in which the Bode has created a gorge-like valley. Since 1820, a trail leads through the previously inaccessible wilderness. Overall, the Bodetal is 9km long, just before Thale about 280 meters deep. Here tower the imposing rocks of the Roßtrappenberg and the opposite Hexentanzplatzes in the air (and reward a climb with a breathtaking view).
