The state of Salzburg is a paradise for gravel bikers, where you can discover countless gravel roads and highlights. The proximity to the Chiemgau Alps, the Berchtesgaden Alps and the Loferer Steinberge makes this an ideal destination for your next gravel adventure.

Whether it's a quick after-work ride around the city or an extended adventure in the mountains, our 13 Tours have a bit of everything. The ‘Schafbachalm’ and ‘Osterhornrunde’ Tours take you into the heart of the Salzburg region, which impresses with its remote gravel roads and magnificent panoramas. The Tours ‘Wildental’, ‘Grimmige Acht’ or the classic ‘Stoißeralm’, show how close to Bavaria you are here; there’s even a border crossing! The ‘Postalmstraß’ Tour near Golling has a little more asphalt in store for you but don't worry, the ride is no less exciting or challenging for that.

All you need to bring is your favourite gravel bike, a sense of adventure and enough time to enjoy this gravel paradise. On most of the Tours you will find refreshment stops and can enjoy an isotonic drink either in a rustic alpine hut or on a sun terrace. But you've earned it: most of the Tours have more than 1,000 metres (3,300 ft) of elevation gain, one even breaks the 2,000-metre (6,600 ft) mark. The beautiful views and the sense of achievement will reward you every time.

Because you also need a relaxing place to chill out and sleep after a long day on the bike, we've picked 13 hotels where two-wheelers of all kinds are especially welcome. In addition to cosy rooms, various bike services await you here: personal route recommendations, guided rides, technique training, washing areas, workshops, lockable bike storage or simply a perfect wellness area.

We’ve also put together the 10 most beautiful Salzburg house Tours, you can find the collection here: komoot.de/collection/420/die-zehn-schoensten-salzburger-hausrunden.
As you can see, the state of Salzburg is a region with endless possibilities. We wish you a wonderful stay!
