Strandurlaub?
Taking your dog for a walk by the sea - that's a pretty tricky thing in Germany. So I was all the more surprised that dogs were not only allowed everywhere on this route, but also led them directly past the two dog beaches and a long stretch of natural beach where you could splash around with your four…
The Jade-Ems-Kanal-Radweg leads for 82 kilometers from Emden to Wilhelmshaven and thus “across” the East Frisian peninsula.
On this tour we drove the last stretch from Friedeburg (or our accommodation, the Forsthaus Gödens) to shortly before Wilhelmshaven, but then switched to the North Sea Coast Cycle…

After a storm was reported for today, we decided against a coastal bike tour and a hike in the Neuchâtel wood. The nature reserve is home to the largest occurrence of oak-hornbeam forest in the East Frisian-Oldenburg Geest and is therefore one of its most important forests.
There are numerous circular…
Hello Friesland, hello sea! It was clear that my first tour here in East Friesland had to take me to the sea.
The "coastal tour" begins in Zetel and leads from there through the marshland and along small and large canals to Dangast by the sea. Whereby "to the sea" is rather relative, because from the…
The 322 hectare protected area Bockhorner Moor preserves a tiny part of the formerly huge high moor that covered large parts of the East Frisian Geest. On the short circular hike you can observe the moor and its animal and plant inhabitants and also what the drainage has done to this special habitat…
On a circular route of around two kilometers through the Spolsen Moor nature reserve, you can find out more about the moor and its inhabitants with the help of a digital moor brochure. Let's go to the moor sheep farm.
Arrived at the newly opened forester's house in Gödens and first of all explore the surrounding area on a walk and in this case that meant a lot of forest, forest and even more forest - a dream! We were also able to collect a meadow bouquet for the holiday apartment and a few fresh wild herbs for dinner.
