Trails that inspire. There is no better way to describe the Slow Trails in Carinthia. On your way through the beautiful landscapes of this Austrian province, the focus is not on high speed but on slowing down. Across 14 trails, we invite you to pause, take a deep breath and let nature work its magic on you. Each individual hike becomes a path to yourself; this wonderful region helps you to be mindful.
Our quality trails lead you through five different regions in Carinthia. Starting with Lake Wörthersee, whose turquoise waters are famous far beyond the state's borders. Or you can take a leisurely walk along the shores of Lake Millstätter See and let yourself be captivated by the magnificent mountain scenery all around. What distinguishes all the hikes is their simplicity. The paths are well-maintained and easy to follow, leaving you time to concentrate on yourself, the landscape and the experience.
Whether you’re into yoga, castles or classical music, everyone gets their money's worth on these 14 trails. The paths all lead to scenic spots on the beautiful Carinthian lakes or take you into the world of music and culture. The Afritzer See and the Drauschleife lakes are both a sight to behold, particularly for bird lovers. Lake Weissensee invites you to take a dip in its crystal-clear water in blissful silence as there is no road along this lake. At other lakes, you can take boat trips and enjoy a completely different perspective from the water.
The trails are about 10 kilometres (6 mi) long and you won’t climb more than 300 metres (984 ft) in altitude. Depending on how many breaks you take, you'll never be on your feet for more than three hours and swimming is possible everywhere! Each Slow Trail has its own character and its own story so come with us on a wonderful journey of discovery and relish in the mindfulness awaiting you.
