There's plenty to discover just a short train ride from Munich and Augsburg, from refreshing quarry lakes to stunning historic towns and mountain panoramas. For inspiration, in this Collection we’ve selected a few hikes and highlights along our route network. Found something that catches your eye? Call your friends, pack your rucksack, pull out your ticket and off you go on your microadventure!
No matter what you and your companions are in the mood for, we'll take you there. The BRB runs in all directions: Ammersee-Altmühltal, Chiemgau-Inntal, Ostallgäu-Lechfeld and the Bavarian Oberland. A great example of a peaceful location is the Altmühltal Valley Nature Park, a wonderful place to go hiking and enjoy nature. In the mood for more variety? Why not hire a canoe and discover the valley from a different perspective? Love wild swimming? Then pack your swimwear and head for Füssen or the Lech. You can cool off in reservoirs and lakes to your heart’s content.
If it’s height and mountain vistas you’re after, no problem. Either take the Kaiserlift up to the heights or earn the view yourself from the summit of the Großer Riesenkopf mountain. And if you miss hanging out on the sandy beach, there's a blissful substitute at Lake Chiemsee. Wherever you go, you can enjoy the soothing nature and beauty of Bavaria. Thanks to our train connections, you can travel in a relaxed and sustainable way as well.
